Betty Tanaka has some MORE STORIES in The Main Central Jin Shin Jyutsu Newsletter, Number 51, Winter 2006:

I had a client who was suffering from a prostrate project. He was in so much pain he had to be driven to my office by his friend. Because his friend had a previous plan, my client was left to drive himself back home. This man literally crawled into my office, unable to straighten up. I had decided to use the 13 Flow and the Kidney Flow. As I was working with him, I could feel his body relaxing and straightening up. After I finished, I recommended he come back a few more times, and he left. He walked out, standing straight, and drove off. I never heard from him until 20 years later. I asked him what happened, and he said, “I never had that problem again.”

A beautiful and proper grandmother came for a session because she felt a little arthritic. She was perfectly dressed, carried white gloves and a handbag similar to Queen Elizabeth. She was what I considered a perfect and proper grandmother. As I was working with her, I decided to use the Small Intestine Flow (pretense), and before you know it, she still looked proper but sounded like a drunken sailor. The four-letter words started coming out, and all I could do was laugh and enjoy the clearing process. When the session was over, she had a relaxed and glowing presence and was even more the beautiful grandma she was.

A 13 year-old boy came with scoliosis (curvature of the spine), and was suffering with back pains. His mother brought him in because the doctor wanted to put him in a body brace. He looked overweight and pudgy. I used the Main Central and 14 Flows. He lost 2 pant sizes immediately and started to grow taller. He never got the braces and grew up normally.

Well, we have reached word count 313 (my birthday), so I think the Universe is suggesting I should tell my story. I had rectal bleeding from a huge adenoma in my colon; actually multiple adenoma that grew upon each other and surgical photos showed something that looked like a brain. It was pre-cancerous. My doctor and I decided to remove it surgically after the bleeding had been controlled by medication…that took a couple of weeks. My father died from colon cancer and I didn’t want to go through that ordeal. My surgeon actually wept and asked me to please let him help me. Over the course of the next 3-1/2 years I endured 13 surgical procedures…one was a bowel resection that did nothing to stop the growth of these adenoma. I told the doctor that I would rather die than have another procedure…I had been having them every 3 months. He asked me to try one more procedure; another bowel resection and referred me to a cancer specialist. The surgery was performed and I returned to the surgeon’s office 5 days later. The pain added to the other painful conditions that I had (and have) required pain killers. While I was in his waiting room – he was the head of Oncology in a local hospital – a woman wandered over from another office in that wing of the hospital. She looked like a “hippie” from the 60s. Her clothing, jewelry and manner were reflective of that time. She sat with me and introduced herself. She was the Director of the Mind-Body Program in the hospital. She told me about all the different free programs offered for cancer patients: Jin Shin Do, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Reiki, guided prayer, knitting circle, art classes, yoga, exercise classes and on and on. She was so incredibly sweet, I listened as I waited, but had no interest whatever. At the time I was an EMT and believed only in western medicine. She was sweet, but flaky. As she talked, my surgeon appeared in his office doorway and waved me in. I excused myself, but she stopped me and told me she was making an appointment for me to have a Jin Shin Jyutsu session the very next day. I agreed to come and rushed into the doctor’s office.

I did go back the next day…I am a promise-keeper…but with all her chatting, I thought I was going to a mild exercise class. Margie was there (I have taken classes with her since) and she gave me a “flow”. Meaningless to me, and I’m not even sure why I stayed, but I lay rigid with fear on the table as she held my wrists and placed her hands on different parts of my body. She softly reassured me that this was not Voodoo. Part way through the session, my body began to relax. At the end of the session, I sat up, then stood up…without pain! And I stood up straight! She asked me to come back the next week and I agreed. I went home and did not have to take any pain medication for 5 days! I had no idea what Jin Shin Jyutsu was or how it worked, but I was going to find out by cracky! Two months later I took my first 5-day class and my entire world opened up and awareness began…now 12 years later, I continue to study this wonderful, loving Art and share with people and animals.

Thank you, Margie.
