At my first class, Wayne invited us to pick any page in any of Mary’s books, daydream on it and have fun. This is the daydream that happened to me on pages 28 and 29 of Self-Help Book II where Mary introduces Safety Energy Lock 9. I was there preparing for our study group’s discussion of Safety Energy Lock 9 and the Nine Flow. I had been to these pages many times, but I had never seen “release tension/stress in our waist area – connecting waist up (‘heaven’) with waist down (‘earth’).” How does 9 do this connecting?

At the farthermost reaches of waist-down-earth, at the foot, are 5, 6 and 7, which is 18, an expression of 9. Again starting at Safety Energy Lock 5 but going the other direction on the foot brings 5,16 and 24 into play; 45 and also a 9. So, in waist-down-earth, 9 has a well-established presence, which is good since it is responsible for the happiness of the foot. As below, so above – waist-up-heaven also has a well-established 9 presence. At the farthermost reaches of waist-up-heaven, on the front side, are 20, 21 and 22; 63 also 9. On the backside are 4, 12 and 11 revealing still another 9; 27. Looking to the right and the left are 17, 18 and 19 bringing the 9 in 54 to us, and, being on the mediator, insuring that left and right are harmonized so that above and below can be.

Strange things can happen in daydreams. In this one I saw that 1 and 8 are paired so that when Safety Energy Lock 1 makes its prime move forward, the 8 is there with it – 1 and 8 are 9. At that moment everything shifted, and the whole body of 26 Safety Energy Locks revealed itself as 9, standing with five triads and five dyads, all of which are expressions of nine. (The triads are: 5, 6 and 7; 20, 21 and 22; 4, 12 and 11; 17, 18 and 29; 24, 16 and 23. The dyads are: 1 and 8, 25 and 2, 13 and 14, 10 and 26, 3 and 15.) So one way that 9 connects waist-up-heaven with waist-down-earth is to organize all of the Safety Energy Locks (our truest friends, Mary calls them) into expressions of 9.

On page 28 Mary says, “‘9’ came into the universe meaning end of a cycle is beginning of another; every end is seed of a fresh beginning…” Number one always begins; one is always the fresh beginning arising from the seed 9 has planted. So, not unexpectedly, the pages that introduce Safety Energy Lock 9 include the next three expressions of 1 that follow 9: the 10 at the top of the page, 19 presented as the Safety Energy Lock to release Safety Energy Lock 9 and the page number itself, 28. Next door is page 29, an 11 – the irreducible master number and the amplified 1. On these two pages, the only numbers are 9 and the several expressions of 1. Wherever there is 9, one (1) must surely follow. Connecting waist up (heaven) with waist down (earth) prepares for the unity of Number 1.
