Safety Energy Lock 19
“‘SAFETY’ Energy Lock ’19’ came into the universe meaning authority and leadership, perfect balance.”
In 1983 I attended a class in Scottsdale with Mary, and I happened upon several seasoned practitioners, who had taken Mary’s class several times. My ears went akimbo. My first thought was maybe they were not very bright and had to repeat the classes. I found out they were very intelligent and already had mountains of notes stored in their computers.
I decided to sit next to them, thinking I might get ideas on note taking. I was soon humbled as I sat next to this group who took no notes. They just listened and watched, and occasionally they turned their heads or jotted down some short line to add to their collection of notes. Being I was a college graduate with honors, I could not imagine sitting in a class over and over again – and then to not take notes just seemed strange.
Finally I asked, “What are you doing??? You all just sit there.” A person from this group said, “We’re watching Mary.” I said, “She’s just sitting there.” And she said, “Oh no she’s not.” I was perplexed to say the least. “Watch her and how she responds to questions and what happens to the energy of the room.” She further explained, “She is a true master of the Art.”
I sat and watched as she pointed out when someone would ask a question. One woman asked about her husband’s heart project, and Mary quietly held her little finger and exhaled, and the whole room of students would exhale. Mary did not answer the question in a direct way, and yet everyone seemed profoundly affected by the answer.
On numerous occasions I watched as Mary would raise her hand, palm open, to a crying child or a person in need. Mary put her hands on many different people, and we watched as they transformed magically before our eyes. Mary has an understanding of the Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu that is amazing to witness. In class sometimes I would say that I was trying to understand, and Mary would simply say, “You sure are.” And then she would say, “Sara, BE the understanding.”
Mary said over and over again in class, “We are Human Beings, not Human Tryings or Doings.” She opened the door of possibilities and showed us ways of BEing if we were quiet enough to Listen, Look and See.
Recently there has been a lot of excitement over the movie The Secret. it seems to me that Mary has been delivering the same messages to us for decades. Mary is the “Perfect Balance”. She is the “Natural Authority and Leader” for all of us to learn from and emulate. In class Mary would say, “Be your own testimony.”
I recently had another profound experience of this door of possibility as I stayed with Anita Willoughby during the organizer meeting in New York. I watched and helped as Anita was getting her home ready to host all the organizers and instructors. Anita moves with the speed and grace of a well-trained dancer. She also moves from this “Natural Authority and Leadership.” I watched as she watered her orchid plants that were in full bloom I have several of those plants and had never gotten them to bloom again. When I asked Anita how she got them to bloom she said, “They have to have a sunny window, a small drink of water that gets well drained, and know that they will bloom.”
The metaphor was profound for me in that moment, and I got yet another glimmer of the door of possibility. I have an orchid plant that I have had for two years with not even one blossom; it currently has bloomed for its fourth time, and today it has two full strands of blossoms. I have been holding my Safety Energy Lock 19 and Exhaling for two months to play with the art of Natural authority and Leadership. Hey, Perfect Balance. From a practicing practitioner of the Arts…
