I’m thinking about tasty tears…

NATURAL VIBRATIONS

“I sing the body electric.”
— Walt Whitman

The water that makes up so much of our bodies is like ocean water. The salt crystals in this water vibrate at ever-changing frequencies. Our hearts are the emotional centers of our bodies, and they put out frequencies that are 10 times the power of the frequencies of our brains.

When we are happy, we vibrate at a higher frequency than when we are angry or sad. Our emotions change the chemical composition of the water in our systems. That’s why happy tears taste different than tears of sadness.

Experiencing physical, emotional and mental stillness harmonizes the vibrational output of the body, heart and mind and we become stronger.

“The message we give our bodies — one of irritation or acceptance — is the message to which our bodies will answer.”
— Deb Shapiro

All Combined Energy-Timing, Part 10

Cynthia Broshi shares her understanding of All Combined Energy, Pages 43 and 42, Text 2, in The Main Central Jin Shin Jyutsu Newsletter, issue Number 54, Fall 2006:

“Open your textbook and day-dream.” ~ Mary Burmeister

Why is All Combined Energy-Timing? Why is Disharmony According to Age? Why am I “me”? Why am I born to these parents, this experience, with these strengths and vulnerabilities? Within All Combined Energy-Timing and the critical ages, my story unfolds: recipient of energy of generations past, instigator of energy of generations to come.

I find it curious and wonderful that page 42 comes before page 43. In 42 (6: Understanding) is the NOW KNOW MYSELF of the Perfect Life Power described in 43. These pages speak of the phenomena of my life – emanating directly from CAUSE – which unfold me. Every one of us can recognize in these pages those critical events when my life turned direction: an injury to the body or a great challenge which diminished my abilities – for some time – yet also presented, perhaps demanded of me, an extraordinary development of my capacities. We find here the age of sudden change – loss of a parent, commencement of a chronic illness, birth of a child – and the Organ Function Energy who leads the unfolding of ME at that age. The qualities and functions given by this very Organ Function  – and those of the Depth who supported it in the womb – are those I find most threatened and most necessary, my Achilles heel and my great personal source. This Organ Function Energy and its supporting Depth are leaders in the continuing development of my unique Being for as long as the project they bring me continues to give my life direction. They demand I reflect, express, Know, BE them.

There’s a moment, as the first morning of a Jin Shin Jyutsu class begins, that I feel overwhelmed with the sense of the plurality of Life Journeys which have brought us all together in one room. How perfect. How perfect is this moment, each moment, as the music I AM – WE IS develops, blends, unfolds, soars.

“Thank You God, thank you for this beautiful body.” ~ Mary

I’m thinking about being and doing…

VALUING THE MOMENT

“… the only time you ever have in which to learn anything or see anything or feel anything, or express any feeling or emotion, or respond to an event, or grow, or heal, is this moment, because this is the only moment any of us ever gets. You’re only here now; you’re only alive in this moment.”
— Jon Kabat-Zinn

Many people regularly squander their time. They live under the assumption that they’ll live forever. As a result, they don’t value the present as a precious opportunity that will never come again.

Others continually race against time, trying to cram too many activities into each hour, and suffering stress in the process.

In our view, we are more effective and most happy when we balance being and doing. We continually ask ourselves what’s most important to get done. And we’re learning to BE — fully present — when we do. We also regularly give ourselves permission to relax.

Make today really matter. It’s all you’ll ever have.

“Very few of us know how much we can put into life if we use it properly, wisely, and economically. Let us economize our time — lifetimes ebb away before we wake up, and that is why we do not realize the value of the immortal time God has given us.”
— Paramahansa Yogananda

All Combined Energy-Timing, Part 9

Cynthia Broshi shares her understanding of All Combined Energy, Pages 43 and 42, Text 2, in The Main Central Jin Shin Jyutsu Newsletter, issue Number 54, Fall 2006:

“Open your textbook and day-dream.” ~ Mary Burmeister

Oscar expressed his Sun Sign, Aries, in remarkable ways. Aries “rules” the head. Since age 3 months Oscar had experienced blows to the head – I heard of an epic journey of unlikely accidents and falls. At age 7 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Though a year of medical treatments appeared to eradicate the tumor he’d never regained his sense of balance or energy. Right around his 9th birthday (Lung Function Energy: Aries) new tumors were discovered.

Uzi and I started working with Oscar several months into a new series of chemotherapy. The Pulse often asked for Lung Function. Soon, with decreased nausea and dizziness, Oscar was able to return part-time to school, and to recommence work on his fabulous drawings of dragons. Many hours went into each of these colorful, brilliantly original, fire-breathing (Mars: Aries!) dragons. One day after his session, Oscar ran through the living room where his Mother and I sat talking. “That’s the first time I’ve seen him run in two years!” she exclaimed. Soon he had the energy to run all around New York City, and met the cast of Harry Potter at their film release party. A week later he strutted all evening in a red beret at the gallery opening for a show of his dragons, the sales of which raised thousands of dollars for children’s health services. He felt great. Then, as suddenly as it had flamed forth, this outpouring of fiery energy extinguished. quickly and quietly his body shut down. Within three weeks, not yet 10, Oscar died.

And there’s Jesse. His Mother, Lila, arrived for sessions speaking of fatigue and depression. Her Pulse asked for 4th Depth and 1st Depth flows. Within a few weeks she felt lighter, and as I listened at the end of the session a new, singular voice spoke out in the Pulse: “Aries”. It had an expansive airy quality, like a sun spun of bright air, slightly reflective as is white silk, radiating just a hint of rainbows. I was surprised. It was so different from what I’d heard in her Pulse till now. As well, I don’t usually hear Pulse speak in the language of Zodiac. The clock said the session was over, so all week I wondered about that new voice, yearning to respond.

The next week, immediately, as I bent to listen… “Aries”. I went right to Lung Function Energy, after which the entire Pulse flowed soft yet solid, airy yet contained, slightly double and lightly springy – like the Happiness pulsation of Page 8 in Text 1. When mother and child are harmonious, we might hear this pulsation during pregnancy. At this moment Lila spoke of a recent miscarriage, and the desire she and her husband shared for a child. The next week she announced, “It’s too early to tell, but I think I might be pregnant.” I looked at the calendar – mid-April – and felt pretty sure. The following week the tests were positive, and throughout his months of gestation Jesse’s little Aries spark – conceived in the Sun of Aries – asked frequently for a Lung Function Flow. He was born Sagittarius (more fire!) and perfect.

I’m thinking about verse 76 of the Tao…

When life begins we are tender and weak
When life ends we are stiff and rigid
All things, including the grass and trees, are soft and pliable in life
dry and brittle in death

So the soft and supple are the companions of life
While the stiff and unyielding are the companions of death

An army that cannot yield will be defeated
A tree that cannot bend will crack in the wind
Thus by Nature’s own decree the hard and strong are defeated
while the soft and gentle are triumphant

I’m thinking about emotions…

PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR EMOTIONS

“Emotions are the next frontier to be understood and conquered. To manage our emotions is not to drug them or suppress them, but to understand them so that we can intelligently direct our emotional energies and intentions…. It’s time for human beings to grow up emotionally, to mature into emotionally managed and responsible citizens. No magic pill will do it.”
— Doc Childre

Many of us believe that we need to keep a tight lid on our emotions. We fear that if we ever allow these emotions to be expressed, they will do serious damage.

But if we summon up the courage to truly feel our emotions, we discover that they don’t last. The monster in the closet turns out to be a pussycat. In fact, if we are willing to experience our emotions completely, without resistance of any kind, they burn themselves out in only a few minutes.

The only thing that keeps emotions alive within you over long periods is your unwillingness to acknowledge them.

“By starving emotions we become humorless, rigid and stereotyped; by repressing them we become literal, reformatory and holier-than-thou; encouraged, they perfume life; discouraged, they poison it.”
— Joseph Collins

All Combined Energy-Timing, Part 8

Cynthia Broshi shares her understanding of All Combined Energy, Pages 43 and 42, Text 2, in The Main Central Jin Shin Jyutsu Newsletter, issue Number 54, Fall 2006:

“Open your textbook and day-dream.” ~ Mary Burmeister

Page 42 speaks of the relationship of Me ↔ Family, Me ↔ World. While the journeys of these relationships may be complex, I can trust that the Pulse will express the harmonizer in this breath, in this moment. The left side of Raul’s face developed paralysis soon after his 17th birthday. Tests revealed “calcification” of his cerebellum and a tumor in his left ear. The cerebellum lives at the base of the skull, right where Spleen Function Energy comes home to the Main Central. Age 17 is when Spleen Function begins to lead 12 Organ Function. So it wasn’t surprising to hear Spleen yelling in the Pulse. Raul started to utilize the Spleen Flow daily, along with the Main Central. Still, at each session, the Pulse wouldn’t calm until I also worked with Spleen. As well, the Pulse asked for flows related to Spleen Function on the Trinity level: 1st Depth flows, and Safety Energy Lock 23.

With the paralysis gradually receding, after some weeks, the pulse changed – now Lung Function Energy spoke clearly, and with a rocky, 2nd Depth texture. The Right Pulse dominated – speaking of cause as being in “my lifestyle” – experiences, attitudes, actions. Right at this time Raul’s mother told me of her son’s experiences of loss. His father had died when he was age 9. Two years ago, at age 15, he’d moved from the forest which had nurtured a gentle childhood to a harsh, urban environment. At the same time his two best friends (his older brothers) moved far away – 2nd depth: grief…Critical Age of Lung Function Energy: 9-10 …Age 15: transition from the 1st Depth time of my Life Story to the 2nd Depth time…texture of both cerebellum and pulse: rocky: 2nd Depth.

As invisible energy flows freely, Energy of Generation and Regeneration – my inheritance and my choice – work together. At this time things really started to move. For the first time in our hands-on together, Left Safety Energy Lock 4 – culmination of 1st Depth, the window through which Spirit flows into Body – began to breathe. Raul’s dearest brother visited for a month. He completed High School and started moving into a world of his own making – taking classes of interest at the local college and finding a summer job he enjoyed and at which he excelled. His ability to smile returned, and gradually improvements were seen in the MRIs. This summer, with money he earned, Raul visited both his childhood home and his brothers. And his Mom has discovered the joys of self-help.

Destiny, Karma, Inheritance, evolution: names for mysterious processes which speak through the map of page 42. These are processes which “I” do not control, vital experiences which escort the me I AM fully into this life. Harmonizing through these experiences may express in the body and/or through other aspects of Being. Jin Shin Jyutsu helps me find Completion. “Matter is the lowest degree of Spirit, Spirit is the highest degree of Matter.”

I’m thinking about verse 75 of the Tao…

Why are the people starving? –

Because their grain is being eaten up by taxes

That’s why they’re starving

Why are the people rebellious? –

Because those above them meddle in their lives

That’s why they’re rebellious

Why do the people regard death so lightly? –

Because they are so involved with their own living

That’s why they regard death so lightly

In the end,

The treasure of life is missed by those who hold on

And gained by those who let go

All Combined Energy-Timing, Part 7

Cynthia Broshi shares her understanding of All Combined Energy, Pages 43 and 42, Text 2, in The Main Central Jin Shin Jyutsu Newsletter, issue Number 54, Fall 2006:

“Open your textbook and day-dream.” ~ Mary Burmeister

Page 42 in action. On his sixth day, during circumcision, Benny’s doctor had some difficulty with stitching the tissues together. When I first saw Benny at two weeks old, bleeding was still a concern. He wasn’t sleeping well and he fussed a lot, especially after eating.

Umbilicus Function is leader of 12 Organ Function ages 0-3, and comes home to the Main Central at the reproductive organ. Umbilicus spoke clearly before the circumcision. Benny’s Sun Sign is Capricorn (Umbilicus). He’s the 8th child (8: As above, so below. Umbilicus: bringing Heaven to Earth), the 10th family member (Umbilicus: the 10th aspect of 12 Organ Function Energy). And at birth the umbilical cord was wrapped so tightly around his neck that it had to be cut before delivery. The difficulty with the circumcision was simply one more voice saying, “Umbilicus is coming to spark this family!”

Mary recommends utilizing Reversing and Increasing of 1st Depth when I first meet a new one. At the vibration of Mediator this is a 1st depth time of life. Is the bridge of Mediator able to transport the SOURCE of Trinity to the body? Benny’s Left flow was rocky, his Right flow gummy and thick. I started with the softer side. LEFT – Energy of Generation – was the Source of the project, while RIGHT – Energy of Regeneration – “me” – offered to break down the old. Once the Right loosened up a bit I moved to the Left. It wouldn’t budge. So I returned to the Right, moving from Right to Left periodically, listening to the Right waken and giving the Left an opportunity to hear the Right speak of movement. Once there was a faint stir in the Left, I went to Right Umbilicus.

“No Way!” Benny bawled. I hung in a few minutes, to see if he was ready to let go. “No Way!” Once his Mom had calmed him, we returned to his 1st Depth. This we repeated three times: as tensions melted with 1st Depth, I returned to Umbilicus, and Benny yelled. So I left his Mom with homework: Reversing and Increasing of 1st Depth daily, the first step of the 13 Flow (13 harmonizes relationship of Umbilicus and SOURCE), and fingers and toes.

When I saw Benny two weeks later Reversing and Increasing of 1st Depth now flowed easily. In various ways he was more comfortable in his body; however, his hunger for Umbilicus Function Energy was obvious. Any time his mother started her own self-help he’d cry – if he was asleep he’d immediately waken and yell – and wouldn’t stop until she jumper cabled him. Herein spoke an Umbilicus gift that Benny brought his parents. Umbilicus is a feminine, nurturing energy. Benny thirsted for this connection. In order to nurture him they had to deepen their resolve to care for themselves – he brought the need for separation, “individualizing”. His mother treated him daily, and when it was time for her self-help, she gave him to another’s care. When he was far enough from the jumper cable energy not to sense it, he could be happy while she helped herself.

How long do we treat a one-month old? They’ll let us know. Our first session was fifteen or twenty minutes. Now, in our second session, Benny glided into a blissful sleep while we enjoyed a very thorough 13 Flow for nearly an hour. We continued with a Right Umbilicus Flow. Haltingly, slowly, it moved. Then all of a sudden the sleeping Benny glowed as though made of silk. Peering closely I could see that every teeny-tiny pore of his skin surface held a minute pearl of sweat. 4th Depth unloading! A sure sign the session is over.

I’m thinking about gratitude…

BE, DO AND HAVE

“Often people attempt to live their lives backwards: they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you love to do, in order to have what you want.”
— Margaret Young

The formula for success is Be, Do, Have. If we seek abundance, we must be abundant in spirit. We can begin to cultivate spiritual wealth by opening our hearts in gratitude.

Start a gratitude journal today. Each evening, write down at least 5 things for which you are grateful. This simple tool will help you open your eyes to the abundance of your world right now.

“Who does not thank for little will not thank for much.”
— Estonian proverb
