Waltraud Riegger-Krause offers an article in The Main Central Jin Shin Jyutsu Newsletter issue from Summer 2010, Number 69 about the breath. This, and all issues of The Main Central, are available at http://www.jsjinc.net.
“Each Breath is unique. It was never here before; it will never be here again.”
~ Mary Burmeister
As we inhale we receive the invisible cosmic life energy along with the more visible particles of the air, so the universal breath becomes my personal breathing.
Jiro Murai said to Mary: “One day you will understand that everything you need for harmony is in the breath and the fingers.”
Through breathing we receive life energy, which is renewing us in every moment.
Harmonious breathing is an important factor in being healthy. It releases disharmonies of all functions, which leads to Joy and Happiness.
The most important thing is to exhale, through which we can let go of everything that isn’t part of our being right now. In giving of all we are, life is renewed, and then we can receive the abundance to energize the form, the body. Each conscious breath fills the body with new life.
“Every breath, well lived, makes yesterday a dream of happiness and tomorrow ecstasy.”
~ Mary Burmeister
The Breath goes down the front and up the back.
Every time we exhale we support the descending Energy Flow in the front of the body, and every time we inhale we support the ascending Energy Flow in the back of the body.
Energy on the front of the body, big toe side of the leg and thumb side of the arm, goes down. Energy on the back of the body, little toe side of the leg and little finger side of the arm, goes up.
Energy lock number 4 is the bridge from the formless into the manifested body. It is the Measuring Intelligence, measuring out which of the 144,000 functions the body needs right now. From there, the Breath comes down the front from the divine invisible into the materialized visible, the Energy of Generation. It goes down to the toes through number 15, which brings joy and laughter into our life. Number 7 – the perfect life power – receives the purified cosmic Energy to send it up the back again. The materialized, the petrified, goes back to the divine, the Energy of Regeneration.
When we regularly practice our 36 conscious breaths a day, the breathing will become slower and longer, rather than be shallow and short. It will come and go by itself. Simply watch the breathing and BE.
There is no need for pushing and trying to. I have noticed that some people go into hyperventilation when they try to breathe deeply during a session. Whenever we notice this with one of our clients, we can advise them to stop. Jin Shin Jyutsu is a powerful harmonizing method. We don’t want to mix it with any other powerful modality.
It can be too much for the system when we force breathing while receiving Jin Shin Jyutsu.
Thank you, Waltraud.
