The Finger Sequences in Self-Help Book 1, Part 2

In issue Number 67, the Winter 2010 issue of The Main Central Jin Shin Jyutsu Newsletter, Mona Harris writes about the power of using the finger sequences on a daily basis. Self-Help Books 1, 2 & 3 can be purchased at http://www.jsjinc.net.

WORRY: We start with holding the THUMB (for overcoming the worry attitude – and/or look at Text 1, page 38, TV 1), then we wrap thumb and fingers around MIDDLE FINGER (relation to the middle toe, that’s where the Stomach Function Energy ends) and we end the sequence by holding the LITTLE FINGER (look on page 38 in Text 1: TV 11 is harmonized through the little finger which helps Spleen).

FEAR: We start again with the THUMB (this time it has to do with the flow pattern of the 4th Depth flows: Bladder Function Energy becomes Kidney Function Energy at the little toe – which relates to the thumb), go on with the attitude finger itself, INDEX (see also Text 1, page 38: Lumbar 2) and end with the LITTLE FINGER (Text 1, page 38: Lumbar 5 is being helped by holding the little finger).

ANGER: In order to harmonize our anger, we need to calm the 5th Depth first by holding the LITTLE FINGER (relating to the big toe, where Gall Bladder Function Energy becomes Liver Function Energy), then we go on to the RING FINGER (Text 1, page 38: TV10 is related to Gall Bladder) and finally we hold the “anger finger” (MIDDLE FINGER) itself (look also in Text 1, page 38: TV 9 has a relationship to Liver).

GRIEF or SADNESS: Our Second Depth has the texture rocks and rods, the hardest texture of all. Maybe that is the reason why we get more helpers to break it up. We have more Safety Energy Locks in Second Depth than in any other Depth, and we get more fingers to hold to harmonize the attitude: THUMB (that’s where the “individualized” Lung Function Energy flows into), INDEX FINGER (that’s where the “individualized” Lung Function energy flow becomes the “individualized” Large Intestine Function Energy), MIDDLE FINGER (Text 1, page 38: TV 3 – Lung Function Energy, and Lumbar 3 – Large Intestine Function Energy) and finally the RING FINGER (Self-Help Book 1, page 11).

PRETENSE: We start by holding the LITTLE FINGER which combines several levels: it is the attitude itself, it is the finger where the Heart Function Energy becomes the Small Intestine Function Energy and it has a relation to Text 1, page 38 through TV 5. As this one finger combines all these different levels, there is only one other helper needed to harmonize 5th Depth: RINGER FINGER (Lumbar 4).

“Attitude is key to our harmony with the universe.” That’s how Mary starts PROJECT No. II – ATTITUDES on page 21 of Self-Help Book I. Key being the element of Third Depth reminds us of the Mediator, which is “the cause for disharmony in the body” as she states on page 18 in Self-Help Book I. Looking at the circulation pattern of the Diagonal Mediator, we can see that it circulates through thumb and little finger. That could be another reason why Mary includes in each sequence either thumb or little finger. For harmonizing 1st and 4th Depth (energy of regeneration), both fingers are utilized. Simple, isn’t it?

Thank you, Mona.

Thank you, Mary.

The Finger Sequences in Self-Help Book 1, Part 1

In issue Number 67, the Winter 2010 issue of The Main Central Jin Shin Jyutsu Newsletter, Mona Harris writes about the power of using the finger sequences on a daily basis. Self-Help Books 1, 2 & 3 can be purchased at http://www.jsjinc.net.

On page 10 (vehicle of the outpouring of limitless Life-Power) of Self-Help Book 1, Mary introduces us to “PROJECT II” which is “to be applied daily” in order to overcome attitudes. I remember holding fingers from the very beginning of my jumper cable days but somehow it took me years before I even looked at the sequences themselves. After some discussions with my LTA colleagues these sequences finally started to make some sense. But it was only when I started using them regularly that they revealed their power.

On pages 22-37 we find out that we can hold a sequence of several fingers in order to harmonize each attitude. In total we will be holding 15 (“wash our hearts with laughter”) fingers on each side of the body. Mary uses 16 pages (16: “breaking down of existing forms for new ones” – breaking down my old thoughts, my attitudes!) to show all the figures/fingers to hold. Mary calls fear the “core” of all attitudes, which might be the reason that we get an extra drawing of the index finger (which is a “quickie” for Fear and not part of the attitude sequence).

In order to understand each sequence, let’s have a look at the relationships involved:

  • attitude level (page 10 in Self-Help Book 1)
  • harmonizing vertebrae for organs through holding fingers (Text 1, page 38)
  • beginning and ending of the “individualized” Organ Function Energy pattern (see Text 2)
  • opposite finger-toe-flow (Text 1, page 46; Self-Help Book 3, pages 18-40) in relationship to the beginning and ending of the “individualized Organ Function Energy pattern
  • flow pattern of the Diagonal Mediator Universal Harmonizing Energy

With this information in mind it is easy to figure out each sequence and its importance for the addressed attitude.

I’m thinking about conversation…

Prayer is neither black magic nor is it a form of demand note. Prayer is a relationship.

–John Heuss

A conversation requires two parts: talking and listening. When only we are talking, that is a monologue. When someone lectures, we listen. Prayer can be a form of conversation, yet if we examine the way we pray we may find it’s a monologue.

We pray to ask for answers or guidance, to express our gratitude, and to bless those we care for. It’s wonderful to open up a channel to our Higher Power by beginning the conversation, but unless we allow time to listen we will never really develop a dialogue.

We can begin to change our way of praying. We can limit our requests so we are not listing a series of wishes or demands. We can ask for patience to listen and then allow a few moments to listen. The answers will come to us and our guidance will be given when we are truly ready to receive them. An equal balance of talking and listening will help strengthen our relationship with our Higher Power.

I will pray and then listen, to allow my Higher Power some time to communicate with me.

I’m thinking about releasing soul into the world…

BRING SOUL INTO THE WORLD

“We live in a culture that is greatly biased against the imagination, because our culture is very materialistic, objective and literal. Our culture lacks soul, and doesn’t know it, although it experiences the consequences. When you don’t know what’s missing, then of course you don’t know what to bring in, even though you feel something is missing.

“We live in a world that needs more soul, more meaning. We, as conscious beings, have, as our primary responsibility, at this time in human history, the task of bringing soul into the world, or releasing soul into the world. We do this, first of all, in ourselves and in our own personal world; then we do it in our groups – including family; then we do it in our society through our work, relationships and presence there.”

I’m thinking about perspectives…

LIMITED PERSPECTIVES

“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.”
— Friedrich Nietzsche

We never have enough information to enable us to fully understand the truth of the reality around us. And there is never only one correct perspective about anything.

Knowing this helps me let go of my tendency to label things as good or bad. I suffer least when I can accept reality just as it is. And I benefit most when I open my heart and mind in appreciation.

“If you are pained by external things, it is not they that disturb you, but your own judgment of them. And it is in your power to wipe out that judgment now.”
— Marcus Aurelius

The Depth and the Spiralling Circle, Part 5

Mary chose our instructors with such wisdom, and we are blessed to have access to their thoughts. Each one is happy to share their journey with us so that we may KNOW MYSELF BE IT IS, IS.

The Depth and the Spiralling Circle

1st Depth

In the First Depth the energy has densed down so much to form a physical body, a sacred temple for the soul to live. It is related to the Energy Body for the physical body. Saturn is the planet here to give us boundaries. He is the one who protects us and opens up to us the gate to freedom only when we really own this body and sustain and nourish it. In the First Depth we are born into a body to go through life and find our way to the real home of our soul. Only on earth do we have the chance to make the experiences we need to evolve and ascend. The physical organs related to the First Depth are the Spleen and Stomach.

After the energy has built all subtle Energetic Bodies it enters the physical body and forms the different body layers in each Depth. Man starts out his life from the time of birth and begins his individual path of life.

Coming from Unity, we begin to experience life. The baby is still fully wrapped into the sacred space, where s/he comes from, then grows up and feels separated from this divine security. S/He gets older, becomes more and more independent and finally leaves the parent’s home to find her/his own path.

We totally grow into the diversity and manyfold of life to unfold our abilities and to experience and enjoy our humanness with all our senses. Life asks us to unfold our innate potential and bring it into the world. Doing this, we grow and learn. And when have reached the peak of our energy and productivity, our soul is longing for more stillness and peace. This makes us reduce our actions and slow down a bit. The psychic and spiritual powers want to develop and be integrated into our doing/being. The journey becomes more inward oriented; we are searching for the meaning in life. When we have reached our heart and have fulfilled our spiritual journey, we will connect again with the eternal power from which we have come.

Thank you, Waltraud.

The Depth and the Spiralling Circle

3rd Depth

As the energy denses down, it forms the Third Depth, which we call the activating principle. It is connected to the power that enables us to transform the potential that we bring into life into action. It helps us to make the right decision so we can expand out into life and make our experiences and grow. It is the planet Jupiter that is connected to Third Depth and to the ability to act and learn. Third depth is like the young energy that we experience in springtime, the adventurer in us that wants to enjoy the colors of life. It is connected with creativity, vibration and sound. Thoughts and emotions are different vibrations, and it is in the Third Depth where we get attached to thoughts and emotions, and they become attitudes. Here in this Depth we bind things, and we loosen them again. We make decisions for our actions and yet it is also the connection to our intuition. The energetic body is the Lower Mental Body, and this has to do with “my will”, versus the higher will which is more connected to the 4th Depth. This 3rd Depth gives us the ability to make decisions, but also to change our decisions and to change our action in life to a more harmonized one. We do not have to be slaves to our attitudes; we can make a decision. Third Depth is connected to the BLOOD ESSENCE, which binds the soul as Mary said, “Every drop of blood contains a picture of the entire past and prepares the future. Blood registers every thought and every emotion.” On the physical level the Liver and Gallbladder are formed in the Third Depth.

2nd Depth

In the Second Depth the Big Breath Essence of the 6th Depth becomes our personal breath, which we receive through the Lung Function Energy. The breath connects all dimensions in man – Spirit, mind and body – all three belong together. Through the breath we are connecting to the Cosmic Energy as well as to all beings in this world. We are all breathing the same air. Here we have planet Venus, which helps us to feel in harmony with ourselves and with others and gives us the ability to see the beauty and the good things in life. Second Depth represents the Emotional Body, Harmony and Rhythm. So it keeps our thoughts and emotions in harmony. On the physical level the Lung and Large Intestine Function Energy is formed in the Second Depth.

The Depth and the Spiralling Circle

5th Depth

It is in the 6th Depth where the primordial fire and the spark of life begin to glow. This fire touches our heart in the Fifth Depth. It becomes our smaller fire of the heart and helps us to become that wonderful human being that we are, without trying to’s, without pretense, being true to our Self. This Depth is related to the Spiritual Body, which gives us the ability to develop spiritually and become who we truly are.

4th Depth

The energy continues to dense down and forms the 4th Depth. This is the Depth that is connected to our potential and to everything that we bring into life from our ancestors. Here our entire life path is imprinted – every experience that is necessary for us, from birth to death. As Mary said, the 4th Depth is the controller of human destiny; it is the most important Depth to harmonize our lifestyle. It is related to the Higher Mental Body, the cosmic intelligence, which enables us to develop wisdom. “Wisdom comes from inside out, whereas knowledge comes from outside in.”…is one of Mary’s quotes.

Oftentimes, we don’t live according to our inner abilities, but we fulfil the dream of our parents, or we follow the ideals of our friends. We don’t trust our own potential, we don’t see the gifts that creation gave us, and sometimes we think we are not good enough, which only comes from fear. 4th Depth is connected with the power that brings us in touch with our inner wisdom and with our intuition, to recognize our goal in life and to harmonize our lifestyle if we follow the “wrong path”. And sometimes we don’t always know our path.

Then it looks like it comes from outside, that we are thrown into a situation or we get sick, so we understand that we have to change something. Those lessons are hard in that moment and often only later do we understand why it has come that way. And then we will be at peace with it. This is all connected to the energy that becomes Kidney and Bladder Function Energy.

The Depth and the Spiralling Circle

From 9th Depth to 7th Depth

Out of NO THING – what we call 9th Depth, formless itself and yet carrying the whole potential, the ALL… Out of the NO THING comes the 8th Depth, what we call the “dot” or the origin of all creation. Mary also called it “Creator” or the first thought or word of God for creation. The original ground of all being, the number 8 of the 8th Depth symbolizes the rhythmic movement from above to below and from below to above, without beginning and without ending. The infinite beauty, peace and strength of the first thought for creation shall come down and express itself into the world. And everything that lives in the world will be connected with above, the original Source, from which all life force is descending. It creates a movement, a vibration, a rhythm. Light appears and gives rise to a cosmic order which is reflected in all that is created; in the composition of the atoms, in the DNA, in the orbit of the planets – everywhere we have the same order of harmony. It is the universal, spiritual light, which is symbolized by the number seven, the 7th Depth. Seven means victory, perfect life power. In the divine light, everything is perfect. On the seventh day, creation was perfect. The light gives spark for our individual life. It is expressed by the sun. Without sun – light – no life would be possible. It is the light in the food that gives us nourishment. And as some scientists have found, there is light in each cell of the human body.

6th Depth is Born

Out of the universal light of the 7th Depth, the individual light of the soul is born. This is what we call 6th Depth in Jin Shin Jyutsu. It is the blueprint or matrix of our personalized life, it is the “I AM”. All information of our life from the unmanifested invisible to the manifested physical body is within the 6th Depth. It is represented by the moon, which possesses no light of its own but is reflecting the light of the sun like a mirror. The more and the clearer the light of Seventh Depth that can enter into the Sixth Depth, the more radiant is our being. Through our personality we are able to allow the divine to shine through us, each one in their individual way. Each human being is a unique expression of the 8th Depth.

The Sixth Depth is the beginning of the energy field of the individual being. It contains the Fifth, Fourth, Third, Second and First Depths. I imagine that the energy comes down, similar to a spiral nebula and becomes denser and denser to form the body.

The Depth and the Spiralling Circle

The universe is the infinite expression of the ONE POWER, which is the cause of all Life. This ONE POWER expresses itself in different forms and laws. If we are in tune with these laws, then we are in rhythm with nature. However, it is our lifestyle that oftentimes forces us to neglect those cosmic laws. For example, if we don’t slow down our activities in wintertime and rest a bit more, like nature demonstrates to us (plants disappear and live in their roots only, animals slow down and sleep), then we shouldn’t be surprised that we are more fatigued and exhausted in spring. Paracelsus said: “The greatest healing power is to be in harmony with the universal rhythm.

Our consciousness about the rhythms of nature has increased, but at the same time we create a lifestyle which draws us away from living according to the laws of nature. Oftentimes it is in our own hands to make a necessary change in our lifestyle and bring about a bigger change in our life. With the daily self-help of Jin Shin Jyutsu, we have the possibility to see more clearly where we are stuck, and finally change the habits of our daily life.

Mary talks about the different aspects of the universal powers, which manifest from the highest cosmic dimension to the individual human life as Depth. Within each Depth we find several aspects and dimensions of life at the same time. There are the Planets, the Astrological Signs, the Seasons, the Organs and the different body layers of man which are all expressed as Depth. The same universal power expresses itself as different vibrations, coming from the depth of the universe into the depth of Life and the individual Being. The Chinese Philosopher Lao Tse describes the origin of the creation in his words: “Out of non-being comes being. Out of the nameless comes all that is named in heaven and earth. As ever empty, we may perceive its inner essence, as ever manifest, we may realize its mystery. However diverse, all flow from the same SOURCE. Within the original mystery is a deeper mystery, and the gate opens again and again.” These are the “worlds within worlds”, as Mary called it.
