Writing my Own History…

“As I am becoming able to create a welcoming inner space, this will affect my ability to create environments and circumstances where people feel comfortable around me and want to come back to me. Cancer is also related to being able to establish intimacy, and 17 to 24 years old is a time when young people have the tendency to start having relationships that involve more intimacy (Cancer) and commitment (Capricorn).

Some young people in this period of life are very aggressive with their parents because they are not able to gain autonomy by creating a mature relationship with their parents. It is time to look to my roots and check what can be useful and what I need to get rid of, like old belief systems, destructive behavior patterns and habits. When I am 6 – 8 years old (Liver Function Energy, another Toe Flow), I learn how to write. Whereas, when I am 17 – 24 years old, it is time to write my own history, to create my own root, to build my own base, to stop being the “victim” of my parents.

This is also the time to decide what will be the work or career that will bring me sustenance, taking into consideration my talents, my potentials; what are the activities where I feel enthusiastic and energized, and how do I set them in action in the world (Capricorn). For that, I need to be sensitive to the world and to myself, to know at least a little bit about the world and myself and to have lived different experiences and challenges. To take risks and experiment with the opportunities for putting my talents, abilities and qualities into practice is very important now. Other important ingredients are determination, persistence and patience (Capricorn).

The questions and doubts are many: Who am I? What do I want? What am I capable of? What can I get from the world? It is interesting to observe that when I am 49 to 56 years old, Kidney Function Energy time, (another Toe Flow time), I will ask: What can I give to the world? What will I leave to the world? How can I contribute to the world to be better?

In fact it doesn’t matter what I do to sustain myself, but how I do it. When I am integrated and really involved with my work, any kind of work will bring me fulfillment and realization.”

Thank you, Iole.

Thank you, Mary.

Thank you, David.

I’m thinking about service…

COMMITMENTS TO SERVE

“Our deepest need is for the joy that comes with knowing we are of genuine use to others.”
— Eknath Easwaran

Holding an intention to be in service shapes our overall attitude towards life in many ways. For example, it brings a greater sensitivity and awareness of others, a commitment to harmlessness, a willingness to put others’ needs before our own and a desire to be in harmony with all.

An attitude of service also involves a willingness to be served when we truly need support.

“… there is no such thing as just existing. Everything is in service to everything else. Existence is giving and receiving. A stone gives and receives no less than a saint.”
— Jacob Needleman

Writing my Own History…

“Now is the time to get ready to sustain (Toe Flow) myself. It is time to get ready to nourish (1st depth) myself, to find the means to sustain my own life, to take care of myself, of my own body, even my home. Those are all qualities that Spleen Function Energy (related to Cancer sign) brings us.

At the Umbilicus time (0-3 years old), which is related to Capricorn (opposite to Cancer) I was completely dependent on an adult to give me food, care, comfort and even limits. Now I need to prepare myself to be able to provide my own food, care, comfort and limits. This is the stage when my body stops growing. Now it is time for my awareness to grow.

It is a good opportunity to pay attention to what kind of food, activities and relationships are nourishing my being and which are poisoning my being.

This is a phase of life in which I feel everything in a very intense way. What happens in my life can be extraordinarily delightful or unbearable awful! People during these ages have the tendency to show a huge mood fluctuation and instability. The challenge now is to help myself find my base and calm down. Do I know how to protect and take care of myself? …take care of my feelings? Am I able to sustain moments of life when I have to face expectation, doubts, frustration, adversities, limits? Spleen Function Energy helps me to contain (1st Depth) what I have inside, finding a safe inner space where my feelings fit, not having to outpour them as young children do, but be able to give myself comfort and calmness as I process these demanding experiences of life…not freezing my feelings, not running away from them, staying there, accepting and cuddling them. This is a sign of maturation, an indication that the teenager is becoming a young adult and that the “umbilical cord” can be cut for the second time. It is a second birth. From then on I don’t depend on my parents to soothe me. Now I am becoming responsible for myself, I am learning to assume the consequences of my acts and choices.”

Digesting, Studying and Exploring the World…

“Sagittarius, the sign opposite to Gemini, also brings some important influences for this period of life. That is why traveling is very good during this time. It is an opportunity to get in touch with other cultures, other ways, other points of view, to experience new sensations, amplifying the view of life and expanding horizons.

Sagittarius is also related with looking for the truth. And it is important for teenagers to find the truth in the world, to find veracity and authenticity in adults around them. They need adults who admit their own mistakes and weakness and do not pretend flawlessness. Another point is that many times they act like owners of the truth.

Anyway, parents need to know that even rejecting and contesting what parents say, somehow their children will listen and register this somewhere. When they are older and more mature, this will be one of the foundations for them to choose the posture they judge is better in each moment of their life. For that, it is important for parents not to be silent. It is time to communicate, verbally or in actions, about everything that is part of their children’s lives.

Talking about Gemini and Sagittarius, I have realized how much Mary Burmeister dedicated her life to develop (and help us to develop through the Physio-Philosophy) the principles and actions related with these two signs. The following paragraphs will show that.

Mary has studied a lot, day and night to “translate” Master Jiro Murai’s information, knowledge and experience for the Western culture. She also has collected more information from different sources, adding her knowledge and experience to build what she called the Physio-Philosophy.

She traveled back and forth (and now we as instructors travel around the world) to bring new philosophical goals and broader perspectives of life to her students and clients. She has given us the Now Know Myself perception, in a very generous and wise way, which allows us to live with more freedom to BE IT (Infinite Truth) IS (Infinite Self), IS (Impersonal Self).

Mary has left the physical world, and for sure, she has done what everyone can do but not always does: she has found a way to contribute to make this world better – much, much better – through transformative teaching and touching. Planting seeds of FUN (Fulfillment, Understanding, No-thing); she became immortal, because her students are multiplying these seeds around the world.

She didn’t like to be called Master because she was aware she knew nothing, and she was always open to learn – constantly; she was always studying. She was a teacher and a student at the same time, because she knew that the more you learn, the more you see how much you still have to learn.

Thank you, God. Thank you, God. Thank you, God, for the Grace of having had Mary Burmeister among us, this wonderful Teacher/Student/Jumper Cable who has helped, and will always help, us to be better connected with You.”

Thank you, Iole.

STOMACH – 14-16 YEARS OLD PAGE 42, TEXT 2

Digesting, Studying and Exploring the World…

“Stomach is a 1st Depth Function Energy, the Surface Skin, which is the most external layer of the body, nearest the outer reality. Teenagers from 14 to 16 years old want to be out, to be in touch with what is happening around them, to explore the world. It is important to foster their curiosity because it is time to collect experiences and information for the next step, “Spleen time” (17-24 years old), when most of the people will choose how to sustain their own lives, defining their profession.

Stomach is related to Gemini, I think.  it is time to think the world, to process the world, to digest the world, to observe and understand the world, to prepare myself to start finding my place in the world.  It is not the time to choose. (They will change their minds twice a week or twice a day!) It is time to have opportunities to investigate all possibilities, getting involved, interacting and exchanging.

Now I want to know different people (preferably different from my parents) with different ideas, different behavior, and different interests. I need to be in relationship with my friends, my tribe, my group in which I have support to do what I don’t have courage to do by myself and in which I am recognized and accepted. At the other side of this coin are the teenagers who are isolated, alienated, not in touch, who have difficulty communicating with the world and feel excluded. This represents how the Gemini aspects of life are having difficulty being expressed.

Stomach Function Energy helps us to digest, understand the world and express ourselves in a way that we are understood by the world. It is common to hear teenagers saying that nobody understands them. Stomach will help them and us to better communicate, to have dialogues and not simultaneous monologues, in which the only voice I hear is my own. Gemini is related to mobility and freedom. People in this phase do not support prohibitions or controls, and they are very anxious for autonomy. They are unquiet and disperse. However, they are still in the process of being capable of assuming responsibility for their acts; in general, they are not fully ready for that. It is interesting that 1st Depth is also related to Saturn, which brings limits and contention. Therefore, this is a moment in which there are two “opposite” principles working. One is bringing the impulse to go out, to learn about the world, and the other is demanding young people to substitute the outer (parents’) rules for the inner principles and laws (self-regulation), because soon they will be the authority on their own lives. Freedom and responsibility always walk together and this is a time when, in general, we want all freedom and autonomy with no responsibility.

A big challenge during this time is drugs. Even having all the information (Gemini) necessary to prevent them from using drugs, many times they are not able to transform this information in practice and protection for their lives (Saturn). The lack of emotional structure and dialogue with parents makes them look for group approval, transgression of rules and limits, relief of anguish, new sensations and pleasure and makes them forget all the information and rationality they have.”

Acquiring My Own Values to One Day Live on My Own…

“Another good quality to foster in this phase is generosity. And a good way to do this is to participate in any kind of community service as volunteers. Many teenagers want to change the world, and being young volunteers will help them to participate in solutions for social problems, to feel helpful and valuable. Besides, this can be one way to satisfy their desire to do something different in their daily life.

Taurus is ruled by Venus which, sure enough, will have a great influence during this time by bringing a major focus on beauty, vanity, self-esteem, including the breakthrough of pleasure and sexuality. All this hormone changing starts happening most commonly during this stage and brings intense physical energy, enthusiasm, unrest and sometimes depression. All ghosts that glide around sex – like fear of failure, the anguish of not knowing what to do, shame, shyness and expectation – can flourish during this time of life. By the way, these are also Scorpio (Kidney – 4th Depth) subjects. Scorpio is opposite to Taurus and will also bring its influence to this period of life, which is full of conflicts and confrontation.

It is worthy to note that Large Intestine Function Energy receives energy from the Main Central at TV12, where Safety Energy Lock 23 lives (again, an influence of 4th Depth). Safety Energy Lock 23 helps to harmonize our behavior, which has to do with the way we react to reality, to the world, to the social environment – bringing tolerance in this moment of so many conflicts. Twenty-three also allows us to be in touch with our potential, with what I have, as unique and personal resources to live life. Safety Energy Lock 23 helps to harmonize our lifestyle. In general, teenagers reject parents’ lifestyle and sometimes choose destructive habits.

It is interesting to observe that many of the issues we have discussed above persist during the adulthood of most people, maybe because our society promotes values related to youth and I have.”

LARGE INTESTINE – 11-13 YEARS OLD PAGE 42, TEXT 2

Acquiring My Own Values to One Day Live on My Own…

“Large Intestine is related to Taurus, which says I have. It is very important to learn that the purpose of having things is to take care of these things. Between 11 and 13 years old in general we are mature enough to take care of what we own. Everything I possess is not permanently mine, even my body, my relationships, my house, etc. They are with me now for me to preserve, cultivate and protect while they are under my responsibility. This perception will help teenagers to avoid wasting and to value what they have and what they are.

When they have the opportunity of observing others’ values, talents and qualities, by appreciating what is beautiful in life, they will start developing their own values and look for their own resources. In general this is a time of standing up against parents’ values and to start building their own way to evaluate and appreciate, or not, their reality and themselves. This is an important step in the process of learning how to live on their own. From now on it will be harder and harder for parents to impose their authority by pressure. It will be necessary to grow more and more respect on both sides. The values of my parents are different from mine, but it is necessary to acknowledge them. And vice-versa, parents need to admit their children are bringing new ways of seeing reality.

Large Intestine is a Finger Flow (related to earth signs), which helps to bring a sense of being secure (finger/hand). Many times I feel secure depending on what I have. I need to have this and that in order to feel secure. At the Large Intestine age, my security will be found at the external world (Large Intestine is a Surface Flow). To be safe I need to be socially accepted and approved, and often this means to possess some goods and brands, which transfers what people value to what they have and not to what they are. Teenagers have learned to consume for the sake of consuming. Many times the priority is to buy and not the usage of the object. However, the more they have, the less they enjoy. Many people are always complaining about what they don’t have or what they have lost. Help them to see what they already have and to be grateful. Gratitude for life is about recognizing the value of life and its resources.”

LUNG – 9-10 YEARS OLD – Page 42, Text 2

Balance Between Inward and Outward…

“This can be a challenging time for parents because they need to respect their children’s space, avoiding invasion in all senses, including their rooms, which now become a refuge. They now need to enjoy being alone (all one with themselves), in touch with their inner resources. This is a good time to start being a good companion for myself, to talk to myself, to listen to myself. This will help myself be able to later on in life listen to others and make myself heard. However some children can have the tendency to be isolated and alienated, with feelings of shame and inappropriateness of their image or appearance (which starts being a big concern for them). As a defensive attitude, they reject in order to avoid being rejected. This time can be the developmental root  of people from 41 to 48 years old who feel loneliness and lack of contact. (The sign opposite to Aries is Libra – related to Bladder Function Energy: 41-48 years old.) In fact when this happens we are missing being in touch with ourselves, caring for ourselves and listening to ourselves. We miss everyone and everything when we miss ourselves.

All aspects mentioned above are also related to Aries and Lung Function Energy principles which are somehow more available to being developed during this time of life – when I want to be accepted because of what I am and not due to what I should be. By the way, I want is their slogan. They are full of energy and motivation to fulfill, or better said, to demand the fulfillment of their desires. Of course, they are not yet ready to accomplish their wishes, because they depend on parents. But we expect they will be ready when they are 25 to 32 years old (Heart Function Energy – Chest Flow). Still, it is important for them to learn to make a clear distinction between their desires and others’ desires and start to acquire skills to be themselves and not to be what others (parents) want them to be.

The result of this process is conflict: inner conflict and conflict between children and their parents. In general, before this time parents were like heroes. From now on they will start to resist their parents’ way of living. On the other hand, many parents will start being resistant to the way their children will start behaving. Some of them can become very aggressive and assertive, others can be reserved and quiet, and then there will be the ones that will be both – depending on the circumstances. Negotiation, debate, argument (Aries) and conciliation, consensus (Libra) will be a good training for life in this period. There is no relationship without negotiation and dialogue (Libra). They are learning how to be in relationship with the world and people. Again, parents need to respect the growing individuality and find a good balance – not being invasive or absent.

Talking about relationship, during this time, it is very common for them to fall in love for the first time, in general, in a platonic way.

Lung is a double organ, and we can observe that this is a time of double feelings and behaviors: boldness/insecurity, assertiveness/timidity, being out/being in, my desire/others’ desires, freedom/dependence, etc. Conflict can predict growth. This is just the preparation for our lifetime story where many times we are at the door and have the opportunity to choose to stay in or go out, to be held in the uncomfortable known past or to take the risk of walking on unknown paths, to follow our family, our cultural way of living and beliefs or to find out authenticity. Exhale/Inhale.”

Thank you, Iole.

LUNG – 9-10 YEARS OLD – Page 42, Text 2

Balance Between Inward and Outward…

“Lung Function Energy is obviously related to the breathing process and how to inhale (to go inside) and exhale (to go outside) in harmony. From 9-10 years old, children will be invited to realize how and when to live in their inner world, opening the door to live fantasy, to walk to the outer world, to also live reality. This is the time to learn how to be with myself and how to be with others at each moment and circumstance, defining one more step to individualization and, simultaneously, socialization.

Lung Function Energy is a Surface Flow. The child (pre-adolescent) is coming to the surface to look at the world “face to face”. At the same time, the division between the world and myself (the other and myself) is becoming each time clearer. The impulse to separate myself from what is not myself is very strong: i.e., the motivation to show clearly who I am (Aries) is really passionate. Now I want to distinguish myself from my parents. I don’t want to be like them. I want to find my style, what I like, my way to see the world, to demarcate my position, my space…my room. This is just the beginning of a process that will have its apex in terms of vigor between 18-24 years old (Heart Function Energy), and its complete awareness between 57-64 years old (Diaphragm Function Energy). This is the path to achieve authenticity (inner truth), which involves all Chest Flows.

Children in this phase want to do things by themselves without asking for help or listening to others’ opinions. They want to listen to themselves, to be their own reference (self-affirmation). They look for new challenges, conquests and stimuli. This is the way for them to get to know their limitations, possibilities and options. However, facing their inexperience and innocence, they are insecure about their ability to deal with life.”

To be continued…

I’m thinking about soul consciousness…

WHAT IS SOUL CONSCIOUSNESS?

“You are a holistic being with both nondualistic energy and the energy of the physical plane as a part of your being at your disposal.”
— Wayne Dyer

Andrew Schneider helps us understand our human experience of being soul. He says, “Soul consciousness arises when we stand facing in opposite directions at the same time – toward eternity and toward time, toward infinity and toward space, toward unity and toward complexity. We stand in that dualism without being dualistic, for in consciousness we can accommodate the opposites. We do this by identifying with both. This identification results in the experience of being an individual while at the same time being the whole, and finding no contradiction in this experience.”

“Give your difference, welcome my difference, unify all difference in the larger whole — such is the law of growth. The unifying of difference is the eternal process of life — the creative synthesis, the highest act of creation.”
— M. P. Follett
