Get to “KNOW (Help) MYSELF” by using the following simple steps to Help Harmonize Blood pressure. Try these methods each time you have a blood pressure project and see what differences you notice…It’s that simple!

HARMONIZING BLOOD PRESSURE PROJECTS

Blood pressure projects of all kinds can be harmonized utilizing finger holds and certain flow patterns from the Jin Shin Jyutsu Self Help Books. With any kind of discomfort we are looking to move energy to a greater place of harmony.

Try these Methods;

Hold your little finger, left then right (or vice versa), until you feel a pulse (or hold for 2 minutes if pulse is not detected). Hold your middle finger in the same way. To maximize result, exhale, drop your shoulders, smile and naturally inhale as you hold each finger. Many people do multiples of 9 exhalations and inhalations, up to 36 times per finger. You can adapt this breathing practice to each method below. This will also help you de stress and relax

Place both hands on your sit bones (SEL 25s). Feel the pulse.

Place Left hand in left groin area (SEL 15) and Right hand on left shoulder (SEL 11). Feel the Pulse.

You can follow with:
Right hand in right groin area (SEL 15) and Left hand on right shoulder (SEL 11).

TESTIMONIALS
From: MO, JSJ Practitioner.

My mother-in-law suffered a stroke just 2 weeks after my first class. I had my husband hold his right hand on her neck with his left palm on top until I could get to the ER. I was 20 minutes away from the hospital when he called me. When I got to her room, I immediately looked at the monitor and it looked really bad. Her heart rate was 150 and her blood pressure was through the roof. My father-in-law told the doctor she had not taken her BP medication for almost 3 weeks. Even on blood pressure meds, her blood pressure was very high and uncontrollable.
When I got there, she was hooked up to everything in sight and I remembered hearing if someone was having a heart attack, to hold the left little finger and put the other hand between the shoulder blades on the back. I could not get to her back so I just held the little finger while my husband continued to hold her neck with his right hand with left palm over it. I thought she would either have another stroke or have a heart attack with the numbers I was seeing on
the monitor. The doctors would not give her anything and they wanted her to “bleed out”. Every time I grabbed her little finger, the monitor would go from 150 heart rate IMMEDIATELY to 70 the very next beat. It was a miracle.

Of course, holding the little finger was too simple for me and I thought I should do something more. However, I didn’t know enough having only learned JSJ just 2 weeks earlier. Finally, out of frustration because of the hospital bed and the monitor connections, I simply sat down to hold the little finger. After 15 minutes of holding that left little finger only because my other hand could not get under her back, her blood pressure came down to  normal numbers and her heart rate calmed down to a steady 70. My husband, who thought this was all quackery, saw the same thing. It was on the monitor. This was verifiable.

He is now a believer in the art and I was too that night. I had medical proof that holding the left little finger brought her heart rate down and lowered her high blood pressure without the use of any interventional drugs. The proof was on the monitor and with my mother-in-law, who survived the stroke without having a heart attack. It’s that easy to start reducing stress and start healing yourself! I’m thinking about treasures inside…

DISCOVER THE TREASURES INSIDE

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”
— Denis Waitley

Peace, joy, health and well-being can only be found inside us. They exist within us now, waiting to be discovered. Yet we tend to look to the outside world to satisfy our needs and longings.

Our outer life reflects back to us the way we think, feel and behave. The outer world is all effects. Go to the source inside for all of life’s treasures.

How are you searching for peace and contentment outside of yourself?

“The great Western disease is, ‘I’ll be happy when… When I get the money. When I get a BMW. When I get this job.’ Well, the reality is, you never get to when. The only way to find happiness is to understand that happiness is not out there. It’s in here. And happiness is not next week. It’s now.”
— Marshall Goldsmith

I’m thinking about verse 73 of the Tao…

Bold action against others leads to death

Bold action in harmony with Tao leads to life

Good fortune, bad fortune

One seems to bring benefit, the other to cause harm

But Heaven rejects them both

Both, in the end, tether men to this world

Who can know the reasons of Heaven?

Who can know its endless ways?

Not even the Sage has an answer to this one

Heaven’s way does not strive yet it always overcomes

It does not speak, yet it responds

It is not summoned, yet it appears

It does not hurry, yet it completes everything on time

The net of Heaven spans the universe yet not the slightest thing ever slips by

Helping Our Eyes, Spring 2013

JIN SHIN JYUTSU® SELF-HELP
Experience Harmony at Your Fingertips….
“Self-Change starts with Self-Study.” – Mary Burmeister
Did you know that we all have the innate power to
help and heal ourselves?
“Until I can help myself, I cannot help another.”

Get to “KNOW (Help) MYSELF” by using the following simple practices each
day to help harmonize your Eyesight. Try these exercises every day for at least
7 days and see what differences you notice…It’s that simple!

HELPING OUR EYES

In this newsletter we learn to harmonize our eye projects (any eye issues, also including vision).
For all flows below, hold until you feel a pulse (or hold for 2 minutes if pulse is not detected).

First hold your middle fingers (left then right hand, or vice versa). Then hold your middle toes in the same way, or together at the same time. To maximize the result, exhale, drop your shoulders, smile and naturally inhale as you hold each digit. Many people do multiples of 9
exhalations and inhalations, up to 36 times per finger/toe, which brings you toward a feeling of wholeness and integration. You can do this breathing practice with any of the exercises below.

Place thumbs or fingers
on LEFT and RIGHT base of skull, sitting down, until you feel pulses on both sides.

Cup hands over eyes, covering SELs 20 on the forehead, with base of palms resting on SELs 21,
till you feel pulses on both sides.

Headaches, Fall 2012

JIN SHIN JYUTSU® SELF-HELP
Better Health For Yourself!….
“Self-Change starts with Self-Study.” – Mary Burmeister
Did you know that we all have the innate power to
help and heal ourselves?

“Rather than trying to correct, simply observe the harmonizing”
Quote from Page 24 of “WHAT MARY SAY’S” by Mary Burmeister

Get to “KNOW (Help) MYSELF” by using the following simple steps to
Help Harmonize Headaches. Try these methods each time you have a headache
and see what differences you notice…It’s that simple!

Head discomforts of all kinds can be harmonized utilizing finger holds and certain flow patterns from the Jin Shin Jyutsu Self Help Books. With any kind of discomfort we are looking to move energy to a greater place of harmony. For headaches we are looking to move stuck energy down, away from the head. So the simplest method is to use holds or flows that encourage energy to descend toward the toes.
As always in JSJ, there are several different ways of facilitating this. Headaches can be the result of our inability to digest on a physical, mental, emotional or spiritual level. Either way, remember to focus on harmonizing.

Try these Methods

A) Hold your thumbs including the pad of the thumb – aka Safety Energy Lock 18 (Fig 1), left then right (or vice versa), until you feel a pulse (or hold for 2 minutes if pulse is not detected). To maximize result, exhale, drop your shoulders, smile and naturally inhale as you hold each thumb. Many people do multiples of 9 exhalations and inhalations, up to 36 times per thumb. You can adapt this breathing practice to each method below. This will also help you destress and relax.

B) Place thumbs or finger or fingers on LEFT and RIGHT base of skull, sitting down, standing or lying down.

C) Just quietly hold the left and right groins (Safety Energy Locks 15) and in a few minutes, more or less, one can feel the tension/stress beginning to melt away in any head discomforts.

D) (1) Place left finger(s) on base of RIGHT cheek bone;  (2) Place right finger(s) at center of RIGHT collar bone. Hold for 2-3 mins to feel pulse. (3) Left finger stays, right finger(s) go to base of LEFT ribcage

TESTIMONIALS
Reprinted with permission from The Touch of Healing:
“Whenever I find myself at a higher altitude, I seem to be susceptible to headaches. These leave me incapacitated for at least a day. Recently, a friend instructed me on how to hold the base of my thumbs at Safety Energy Lock 18. She told me that this would help to clear up the pressure that I felt in the back of my head. I used this on myself during my next trip to the mountains, and was pleasantly surprised at the result!”

I’m thinking about my body…

WHAT IS YOUR BODY TELLING YOU?

“There are times when we may fool ourselves. There are times when we can fool others. But we can never fool our body. It is the most sensitive barometer of our inner world.”
— Sherrill Sellman

“Instead of frittering away your vibrancy with worry or distraction, realize your mind and body are inextricably united. What calms and tones up one, soothes and improves the other.”
— Marsha Sinetar

“When you are saying that you are happy and you are not, there will be a disturbance in your breathing. Your breathing cannot be natural. It is impossible.”
— Osho

“Your body is the ground and metaphor of your life, the expression of your existence. It is your Bible, your encyclopedia, your life story. Everything that happens to you is stored and reflected in your body. In the marriage of flesh and spirit divorce is impossible.”
— Gabrielle Roth

“If you don’t take care of your body, where will you live?”

I’m thinking about ego…

IS YOUR EGO INVOLVED?

“There is no room for God in him who is full of himself.”
— Hasidic Saying

On the spiritual path, we must be diligent to discriminate whether we are acting from ego or from soul. If ego is in charge, what we do is self- referencing. At the deepest levels, we are motivated by our own self-interest. We’re looking out for ourselves more than for others.

Although soul works through individuals, its focus is on the needs of others and on service to humanity.

“Do not feed your ego and your problems, with your attention. …Slowly, surely, the ego will lose weight, until one fine day it will be nothing but a thin ghost of its former self. You will be able to see right through it, to the divine presence that shines in each of us.”
— Eknath Easwaran

“Why aren’t you happy? It’s because ninety-nine percent of everything you do, and think, and say, is for yourself — and there isn’t one.”
— Wu Wei Wu

I’m thinking about the mind…

ALL IS MIND

“I want to know the thoughts of God; the rest are details.”
— Albert Einstein

Everything — absolutely everything — that happens in our lives has a spiritual cause. Mental, emotional and physical events are only effects.

When we are struggling with any challenge, whether it be ill health, a lack of money, a lost job, relationships, an accident, whatever — we need to look for the spiritual learning. We can ask ourselves, “What quality does my soul want me to live more fully?”

“I went to the root of things, and found nothing but Him alone.”
— Mira Bai

I’m thinking about verse 72 of the Tao…

When the people do not fear worldly power a greater power will arrive

Don’t limit the view of yourself

Don’t despise the conditions of your birth

Don’t resist the natural course of your life

In this way you will never weary of this world

The Sage knows himself, but not as himself

he loves himself, but not as himself

he honors himself, but not as himself

Thus, he discards the view of his own self and chooses the view of the universe

36 Breaths & Holding Fingers, Winter 2010

JIN SHIN JYUTSU® SELF-HELP

Experience Harmony at Your Fingertips….

“Self Change starts with Self Study” – Mary Burmeister
Did you know that we all have the innate power to help and heal ourselves?
Try either of these exercises below (or both) everyday for 7 days and see what differences you notice…It’s that simple!

THE 36 BREATHS
The simplest and most important SELF-HELP tool we have is our BREATH – The EXHALE and
the INHALE. When we exhale consciously and deeply, we release tension and stress. When
we inhale naturally, we receive an abundance of life energy. This life energy connects our
body, mind, and spirit. A good formula is EXHALE; DROP YOUR SHOULDERS AND SMILE.

Simply and consciously exhale while dropping your shoulders as if they are touching your
feet. The smile comes naturally as you release and gently welcome the inhalation.
Each day use this formula to EXHALE consciously and INHALE naturally, 36 breaths. You can do
this all at once or you can do 9 complete exhales and inhales four times per day.

HOLDING YOUR FINGERS
Another exercise is to gently wrap one hand around your other hands’ thumb and each finger
individually and then hold the palm of the other hand. Hold each finger, thumb, and palm for
at least 2 minutes apiece or longer. You can choose which hand you want to hold or do both.

The fingers and palm have energy connections to our mind, body and spirit. Alternatively, you
can do both exercises together as well… the 36 Breaths while holding your fingers. While you
hold each finger/position, do 6 complete breaths and then move to next finger/position and
repeat.

It’s that simple to start reducing stress and healing yourself! Share this information with
others who also want Better Health for Themselves.
