I’m thinking…

…about Christmas.

OMG!

I heard that Christmas celebrations came into being in order to tempt Pagans to become Christians and to retain Christians who enjoyed Pagan celebrations!
“Many popular customs associated with Christmas developed independently of the commemoration of Jesus’ birth, with certain elements having origins in pre-Christian festivals that were celebrated around the winter solstice by pagan populations who were later converted to Christianity. These elements, including the Yule log from Yule and gift giving from Saturnalia, became syncretized into Christmas over the centuries. The prevailing atmosphere of Christmas has also continually evolved since the holiday’s inception, ranging from a sometimes raucous, drunken, carnival-like state in the Middle Ages, to a tamer family-oriented and children-centered theme introduced in a 19th-century reformation.” ~ Wikipedia

Seems we’ve brought that aspect to it’s pinnacle:
“Because gift-giving and many other aspects of the Christmas festival involve heightened economic activity among both Christians and non-Christians, the holiday has become a significant event and a key sales period for retailers and businesses. The economic impact of Christmas is a factor that has grown steadily over the past few centuries in many regions of the world.” ~ Wikipedia

No one can agree on the actual date:
“While the birth year of Jesus is estimated among modern historians to have been between 7 and 2 BC, the exact month and day of his birth are unknown.”
“The date of Christmas may have initially been chosen to correspond with the day exactly nine months after early Christians believed Jesus to have been conceived, or with one or more ancient polytheistic festivals that occurred near southern solstice (i.e., the Roman winter solstice); a further solar connection has been suggested because of a biblical verse identifying Jesus as the “Sun of righteousness”.” ~ Wikipedia

(Aside: I thought birth occurred 38-40 weeks after conception? 10 lunar months?)

Boston banned it!
“Following the Protestant Reformation, groups such as the Puritans strongly condemned the celebration of Christmas, considering it a Catholic invention and the “trappings of popery” or the “rags of the Beast”. The Catholic Church responded by promoting the festival in a more religiously oriented form.
In Colonial America, the Puritans of New England shared radical Protestant disapproval of Christmas. Celebration was outlawed in Boston from 1659 to 1681. The ban by the Pilgrims was revoked in 1681 by English governor Sir Edmund Andros, however it was not until the mid-19th century that celebrating Christmas became fashionable in the Boston region.” ~ Wikipedia

Scotland abolished it!
“The Parliament of Scotland officially abolished the observance of Christmas in 1640, claiming that the church had been “purged of all superstitious observation of days”. It was not until 1958 that Christmas again became a Scottish public holiday.” ~ Wikipedia

We “must needs” blame Charles Dickens for promoting Christmas:
“In the early 19th century, writers imagined Tudor Christmas as a time of heartfelt celebration. In 1843, Charles Dickens wrote the novel A Christmas Carol that helped revive the “spirit” of Christmas and seasonal merriment. Its instant popularity played a major role in portraying Christmas as a holiday emphasizing family, goodwill, and compassion.
Dickens sought to construct Christmas as a family-centered festival of generosity, in contrast to the community-based and church-centered observations, the observance of which had dwindled during the late 18th century and early 19th century. Superimposing his secular vision of the holiday, Dickens influenced many aspects of Christmas that are celebrated today in Western culture, such as family gatherings, seasonal food and drink, dancing, games, and a festive generosity of spirit. A prominent phrase from the tale, “Merry Christmas”, was popularized following the appearance of the story. This coincided with the appearance of the Oxford Movement and the growth of Anglo-Catholicism, which led a revival in traditional rituals and religious observances.” ~ Wikipedia

Isaac Newton threw in his 2 cents!
“In the early 18th century, some scholars proposed alternative explanations. Isaac Newton argued that the date of Christmas, celebrating the birth of him whom Christians consider to be the “Sun of righteousness” prophesied in Malachi 4:2, was selected to correspond with the southern solstice, which the Romans called bruma, celebrated on December 25. In 1743, German Protestant Paul Ernst Jablonski argued Christmas was placed on December 25 to correspond with the Roman solar holiday Dies Natalis Solis Invicti and was therefore a “paganization” that debased the true church. It has been argued that, on the contrary, the Emperor Aurelian, who in 274 instituted the holiday of the Dies Natalis Solis Invicti, did so partly as an attempt to give a pagan significance to a date already important for Christians in Rome. In 1889, Louis Duchesne proposed that the date of Christmas was calculated as nine months after the Annunciation, the traditional date of the conception of Jesus.” ~ Wikipedia

OMG!
Why can’t we simply love and serve each other every day of every year?

…maybe that’s a New Year’s Resolution?

MAY TODAY AND EVERY DAY BE WONDER-FULL AND LOVE-FULL FOR ALL!

Waltraud Riegger-Krause on SEL 24

Waltraud Riegger-Krause shares her experience of Safety Energy Lock 24 in issue Number 27, Winter 1999/2000:

Safety Energy Lock number 24 brings total peace for spirit, mind and body. It is borne within the 5th Depth, which helps me to get in contact with my true Inner Being, with my spiritual SELF.

Fifth Depth helps me to become who I really AM. When I am experiencing that depth of my BEING, there is peace, there is understanding; and all feelings of jealousy, revenge and stubbornness are gone.

Twenty-four adds up to six, and six means balance. That’s why I can use the 24/26 flow whenever the pulses are very chaotic and I don’t know what to do, or when someone is panicking.

Whenever I am in balance I can SEE things as they really ARE and not the way they seem to be.

The “seems to be” is filled with prejudice, opinions and illusions. So when I am experiencing tension and all kinds of emotions within myself, I can just sit down for a moment and hold 24 with opposite 26, and very soon this calm and peaceful state will come back.

As Mary once said, “Twenty-four helps me develop and grow into all the good that I already AM.”

On the physical level, 24 harmonizes the Gall Bladder Function Energy. I have had good experiences holding 24 with 16 for migraine headaches. In such cases, I am clearing the whole back of the foot on the little toe side from right before the ankle bone all the way to the little toe, step by step. Oftentimes, I find a lot of accumulations there.

Twenty-four can also be used as a quickie for the Diagonal Mediator Flow.

I’m thinking…

…about King John’s Christmas (in three parts…)
This is part 3:

“I did want crackers,
And I did want candy;
I know a box of chocolates
Would come in handy;
I do love oranges,
I did want nuts.
I haven’t got a pocket-knife –
Not one that cuts.
And, oh! If Father Christmas had loved me at all,
He would have brought a big, red, india-rubber ball!”

King John stood by the window,
And frowned to see below
The happy bands of boys and girls
All playing in the snow.
A while he stood there watching,
And envying them all…
When through the window big and red
There hurtled by his royal head,
And bounced and fell upon the bed,
An india-rubber ball!

AND, OH, FATHER CHRISTMAS,
MY BLESSINGS ON YOU FALL
FOR BRINGING HIM
A BIG, RED
INDIA-RUBBER
BALL!

AND, MAY I ADD, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT?

Wayne Hackett on SEL 24

Today we shall see what Wayne Hackett shared in issue Number 17, Winter 1999/2000 about his experience with Safety Energy Lock 24:

It is often said, “X marks the spot”. And, in mathematical equations, X represents the solution. In both uses, X is associated with the discovery of the hidden or unknown.

This “mystery-solving” quality of X comes to man through Safety Energy Lock 24, the third six (6, 15, 24) within the Safety Energy Locks. “Six-ing” (6-ing), whose function is to balance, brings physical balance (S.E.L 6), mental balance (S.E.L. 15) and spiritual balance (S.E.L. 24).

The first Safety Energy Lock in the 5th Depth, S.E.L. 24, initiates and supports the primary 5th Depth intention that we “arise into our spiritual inheritance”. In the journey of Now Know Myself, S.E.L. 24, nicknamed the peacemaker, harmonizes chaos and releases jealousy, revenge and stubbornness. It has been said, “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God” (Matt. 5:9). Here, again, we see S.E.L. 24 and the 5th Depth encouraging us: “BE who we are!”

In the dance of numerology and in the philosophy of Jin Shin Jyutsu, three (3) and six (6) are constant partners (i.e., the S.E.L. 3/S.E.L. 15 relationship and the 6th Depth/3rd Depth flows combining as the middle flows to form the mesodermal layer of the body). As a six, S.E.L. 24 plays a key role in the 3rd Depth/6th Depth relationship.

Living in the outer edge of the foot, it lies within the circulation patterns of the Diagonal Mediator (Activity Principle) and the Gall Bladder Function Energy. Safety Energy Lock 24 can be utilized to support the Mediator in releasing attitudes and to assist the Gall Bladder, who via Umbilicus, receives the Breath of Life into the manifesting body.

Safety Energy Lock 24 is one of the seven perfect, all-inclusive Safety Energy Locks. It embodies the Light of Life itself. Mary used to speak to us about the 4 attributes shared by all manifested phenomena: number, shape/(form), color, and tone. Therefore,24 works with all Depths and all functions. Safety Energy Lock 24, the X! Use it. Learn from it, and demystify the mysteries of Life.

I’m thinking…

…about King John’s Christmas (in three parts…)
This is part 2:

“I want some crackers,
And I want some candy;
I think a box of chocolates
Would come in handy;
I don’t mind oranges,
I do like nuts!
And I SHOULD like a pocket-knife
That really cuts.
And, oh! Father Christmas, if you love me at all,
Bring me a big, red, india-rubber ball!”

King John was not a good man –
He wrote this message out,
And gat him to his room again,
Descending by the spout.
And all that night he lay there,
A prey to hopes and fears.
“I think that’s him a-coming now.”
(Anxiety bedewed his brow.)
“He’ll bring one present, anyhow –
The first I’ve had for years.”

“Forget about the crackers,
And forget about the candy;
I’m sure a box of chocolates
Would never come in handy;
I don’t like oranges,
I don’t want nuts,
And I HAVE got a pocket-knife
That almost cuts.
But, oh! Father Christmas, if you love me at all,
Bring me a big, red, india-rubber ball!”

King John was not a good man –
Next morning when the sun
Rose up to tell a waiting world
That Christmas had begun,
And people seized their stockings,
And opened them with glee,
And crackers, toys and games appeared,
And lips with sticky sweets were smeared,
King John said grimly: “As I feared,
Nothing again for me!”

Muriel Carlton on SEL 24

Today we’ll look at what Muriel Carlton shared in issue Number 27, Winter 1999/2000 about her experience with Safety Energy Lock 24.

On this beautiful day as the music of Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto and his Clarinet Quintet in A major followed by Bizet’s L’Arlesienne, Suite #2, wafts through the room, I am holding my little finger asking for inspiration pertaining to Safety Energy Lock 24. I become acutely aware of the attitude of “trying to” and the chaos and disharmony it brings into our earthly experience. Safety Energy Lock 24 came into the universe meaning understanding, harmonizing chaos which, in turn, facilitates exploration of self.

NOW(7) KNOW(9) MYSELF(8) = 24, which harmonizes all chaos within – mental, digestive, physical, emotional and spiritual – for complete peace of mind and body. With this sense of peace of mind and body, one can surrender oneself into Spirit and live in the truth that the Creator’s love is unconditional (forgiving all, accepting all and blessing all).

Safety Energy Lock 24 is borne within Fifth Depth, our spiritual inheritance. The role of the Fifth Depth heart energy in our awakening journey is to create a peaceful connection and relationship with all aspects of our self and with the universe. It is through the heart energy that one remembers to enjoy and have enthusiasm for earthly experiences. It helps us to be filled with love and wisdom so that the earth life is organized, peacefully positive and emotionally satisfying.

As “trying to’s” dissipate, one awakes to the SELF you are, a spiritual BEing having a human experience. Through simply holding our Safety Energy Lock 24 and/or little finger, our awareness is awakened to the simple fact that all that is needed for harmony and balance with the universe is within MYSELF.

I’m thinking…

…about King John’s Christmas (in three parts…)
This is part 1:

King John was not a good man –
He had his little ways.
And sometimes no one spoke to him
For days and days and days.
And men who came across him,
When walking in the town,
Gave him a supercilious stare,
Or passed with noses in the air –
And bad King John stood dumbly there,
Blushing beneath his crown.

King John was not a good man,
And no good friends had he.
He stayed in every afternoon…
But no one came to tea.
And round about December,
The cards upon his shelf
Which wished him lots of Christmas cheer,
And fortune in the coming year,
Were never from his near and dear,
But only from himself.

King John was not a good man,
Yet had his hopes and fears.
They’d given him no present now
For years and years and years.
But every year at Christmas,
While minstrels stood about,
Collecting tribute from the young
For all the songs they might have sung,
He stole away upstairs and hung
A hopeful stocking out.

King John was not a good man,
He lived his life aloof;
Alone he thought a message out
While climbing up the roof.
He wrote it down and propped it
Against the chimney stack:
“TO ALL AND SUNDRY – NEAR AND FAR –
F. CHRISTMAS IN PARTICULAR.”
And signed it not “Johannes R.”
But very humbly, “JACK”.
