Matthias Roth on SEL 20

Matthias Roth shares his experience of Safety Energy Lock 20 in issue Number 23, Winter 1998/99 of The Main Central:

Twenty may be one of our most used Safety Energy Locks. You will often touch it unconsciously as you rub or hold your forehead in an effort to remember or think. Without even knowing it, we all use 20 to help memory and concentration and clarity of the mind.

So we are not surprised to find out that 20 helps prevent or “dissipate” senility and any other loss of mental faculty.

The meaning of 20 is “eternal, ever-lasting, eternity, perpetual consciousness”. The latter is a fancier word for memory. Beyond recalling where on earth you put those car keys again, 20 helps you delve into such deep layers of remembering that it may spark timeless memory of who and what you truly are. You see, from practical, down-too-earth use all the way to spiritual evolution, 20 will let you open your eyes. The physical eyes (which especially benefit from a combination of 20 and opposite 4) and those “new eyes” that Mary talks about in quoting Proust: “The only true journey, the only fountain of youth, is not seeking out new landscapes, but having new eyes.”

All knowledge lies within myself. Having new eyes is what it takes to uncover it. 20 will let you open those eyes, allowing you to “amalgamate with universal consciousness”. In universal consciousness, we SEE simplicity. In simplicity, I SEE that holding little finger is to BE harmonizing number 20.

I’m thinking…

…about our relationship with animals, planets, tones, colors, ancient cultures, each other, et cetera, et cetera.

I’ve wanted to begin a category for Animals for a while now.
I’ve had many experiences from both sides…animals helping me and me helping animals.

I want to fill this category with my own experiences and invite the reader to share as well.

After all these years, to have an awareness of my oneness with the universe and all that is contained in it, opens my mind to heretofore rejected theories/experiences of others as hogwash.

I sit quietly and think of the times over my life when animals had comforted me or had a mysterious message for me and realize the strangeness of remembering in detail yet not understanding any of it until now. Why did I not simply dismiss the memory to my deep subconsciousness?

Don’t know, but am glad because now the understanding begins to come. Why did Algernon, my horse, lay down in the paddock and put his head in my lap? I stroked his great head and he drank some of my orange juice from a paper cup, made some sounds and popped up to cavort in front of me! Many stories like that to tell….

I’ve rescued dogs, one at a time, for many years. Some were young, some were old, all were abused and/or neglected and required veterinary care and lots of love. For many years I was not aware of the depth of our communication but now begin to see. Before each went over the “Rainbow Bridge”, they learned that not all humans were bad and they had many days of peace and love.

After my last “little girl”, Eliza Doolittle, moved on to a place where we will meet again, I adopted a feral 3-month old kitten. After 3 months, during which time she made it purrfectly clear to me who was queen and who was in charge, we had a little talk and decided to foster another kitten. And so Cooper-kitty joined us. He was three months older than Cleopatra, yet I was privileged to observe as she “mothered” him, taught him to play and use the litter box, etc. Cleo and I had a joint effort agreement! Well, Cooper-kitty was officially adopted last Spring and we are now a family of 3.

I remember “Tweety” and “Sweetie” from my youth and how “Sweetie” developed a tumor and died and how “Tweety” died from a broken heart (?) two weeks later. Did I remember all these years because I learned how Jin Shin Jyutsu helps the body absorb accumulations? (Tumors are accumulations in JSJ-talk.) I remember the times of communication with my “nephew” “Mango’, a Senegal parrot. I cared for him when his owner was called away for business; a pretty frequent occurrence. The unity; the oneness…

I have many stories about my experiences with these animals which I will share in the future.

As respects Jin Shin Jyutsu, I have had several animal clients and welcome them all. I have wonderful ‘tails’ to relate (couldn’t resist) about how JSJ supported veterinary medicine and or harmonized an project before a vet was required.

Again, send me your stories so that we all may share.

The Story About Squirrel:

Animal Medicine & Jin Shin Jyutsu
by Lydee Scudder

A little over a year ago I had been noticing a lot of squirrels in the world around me. Everywhere I went I saw squirrel, and squirrel seemed to be trying to get my attention. I knew there was a message for me in this, but I did not know what it might be. I read about squirrel in Medicine Cards’ book, and it talked about how one aspect of squirrel medicine had to do with gathering, and still this was no help.

A week or so later, I was at a Jin Shin Jyutsu five-day seminar taught my Muriel Carlton and she was talking about tumors and other accumulations and how these are 4th Depth projects. She spoke about how hoarding is a sign of disharmony in the 4th Depth. At that moment it hit me: What is hoarding but out-of-control gathering? I realized that in this instance squirrel medicine was telling me about a 4th Depth imbalance.

I went home, cleaned out my closets and considered where in my life I was gathering and hoarding that which did not serve me. It was at this time that I saw the first true glimpse of the breadth and depth of the ways that animal medicine can be used in association with Jin Shin Jyutsu. I thank squirrel for that, and am happy to name this writing after him.

At the time of this experience I had been working with animal medicine for a number of years. It had occurred to me that, just as there are colors, seasons, planets, etc., associated with different Depths, Safety Energy Locks and Organ Function Energy, might there not be animal associations as well?

Some seemed quite obvious. For me there is clear association between turkey vulture and the 2nd Depth, particularly the Large Intestine Organ Function Energy. I also associate it with the Safety Energy Lock 11, or “Alice’s Restaurant Safety Energy Lock” and a need to “take out the garbage”. When I notice that my friend the turkey vulture is trying to attract my attention, I am open to learning what work I may need to do in the area of letting go.

After pondering and meditating on this for several years I have come to see that the messages of different animal helpers generally do not relate to particular Depths or Safety Energy Locks. Rather, like the physical projects we develop in our bodies, they are signposts to show us where we may be out of balance with the universe, and to guide us along our path.

Each one of us, as a unique manifestation of Spirit, is the universe in miniature. When something in my body attracts my attention, frequently in the form of discomfort or dis-ease, I ask what I have to learn from this project, and I thank Spirit for what I know to be a helping signpost to show me where I am out of harmony.

When something outside outside of me attracts my attention repeatedly, I know that this, too, is a message to help me along my path.

Animals are a particularly rich source of such messages.

Exhale

There are two articles in issue Number 22, Autumn 1998; Exhale by Sara Harper and The Story About Squirrel: Animal Medicine & Jin Shin Jyutsu.

I cannot move on to the next Safety Energy Lock without sharing these articles with you. I’m having difficulty choosing which one first! I think I’ll write about Exhale here and maybe start a new category about Jin Shin Jyutsu for animals for Squirrel Story. I have had many experiences with Jin Shin Jyutsu helping animals.

It is all about oneness; unity; compassion, love, service to all life in this wonder-full universe we call home. Plants and animals help us; we help them. We are supposed to help one another but, alas, we are not totally successful in any of these aspects of life. Well, shall we begin here? Yes, let’s do!

Exhale
by Sara Harper

Each time I have had a session with Mary in the past I would come away with yet another treasure. Mary would always be contemplating some concept and would share her insights with me while receiving a session from her. One time in particular Mary said to me, “You’re not Exhaling”. Mary said to me that Exhaling is how we let go. It is how we let go of all tensions and stresses in the body. In fact, if we would simply focus on the Exhaling, the letting go, we would never have to worry about inhaling. It would happen without effort and we could receive the breath of life fully (Effortless Reality). Mary continued to coach me on Exhaling from each area of my body, especially where tensions and stresses had built up. She kept saying, “That’s right! Just Exhale”, from here and there as she worked on me. Mary said, “We do not take a breath, we Receive a breath.”

Well, all this was new to me, and it felt quite good to focus on the Exhaling and letting go – and so simple! All I have to do is focus on the Exhale, and I can release all tensions and stresses I have in my body. Well, it has been many years since Mary said that to me, and I have used that in my daily living ever since. I am still practicing the concept and will forever be a student of the Exhale (Letting Go).

In the Self Help Book II, page 11, Mary says:

“Exhale (lovingly ‘give’ out) all of the ‘dirt, dust and greasy grime’ from head to toes. Receive gratefully (inhale) the Cosmic Energy from toes to head.”

“Start counting the exhalings from one to thirty-six. Now we are in the ‘BREATH’ itself where there is ‘no-thing’. This is REALITY-PHYSIO-PHILOSOPHY (Nature-the Effortless reality) KNOW MYSELF IT IS.”

Thank you, Sara.
Thank you, Mary.

I’m thinking…

…about Christopher Robin…’cause I god a cod in my nos…

Sneezles

Christopher Robin
Had wheezles
And sneezles,
They bundled him
Into
His bed.
They gave him what goes
With a cold in the nose,
And some more for a cold
In the head.
They wondered
If wheezles
Could turn
Into measles,
If sneezles
Would turn
Into mumps;

They examined his chest
For a rash,
And the rest
Of his body for swellings and lumps.
They sent for some doctors
In sneezles
And wheezles
To tell them what ought
To be done.

All sorts and conditions
Of famous physicians
Came hurrying round
At a run.
They all made a note
Of the state of his throat,
They asked if he suffered from thirst;
They asked if the sneezles
Came after the wheezles,
Or if the first sneezle
Came first.

The said, “If you teazle
A sneezle
Or wheezle,
A measle
May easily grow.
But humour or pleazle
The wheezle
Or sneezle,
The measle
Will certainly go.”
They expounded the reazles
For sneezles
And wheezles,
The mannor of measles
When new.
They said, “If he freezles
In draughts and in breezles,
The PHTHEEZLES
May even ensue.

Christopher Robin
Got up in the morning,
The sneezles had vanished away.
And the look in his eye
Seemed to say to the sky,
“Now, how to amuse them today?”

Jed Schwartz on SEL 19

Jed Schwartz writes about his experience with Safety Energy Lock 19 in issue Number 22, Autumn 1998:

Nineteen is our authority and “Leader Ship in Life”. Webster’s Dictionary describes these words to reflect “power; obedience; the right to command; power to influence thoughts, opinions and outward behavior of others; a combination of unrestrained definitive masterfulness, clearsighted ingenuity and skill and economical attainment of an objective; guiding or direction others…”

This speaks to how Nineteen harmonizes our waist line and Safety Energy Locks 14, 23, 9. This gives us sustenance, equilibrium; control of our destiny, completion and new beginnings.

With these Safety Energy Locks harmonized, we can have the awareness of how Nineteen actually allows us to have this personal authority over ourselves and to direct the perfect balance we have over our Body, Mind and Emotions.

Once we have our Personal Authority and Leadership, then we can be that for others. When I contemplate great leaders, chiefs and generals in history posed with one or both hands over their 19’s, a sense of dignity, self-containment and inner strength is emitted from this posture.

17, 18, and 19 in the Mediator is Spirit, Mind and Body. Nineteen gives us harmony of our Body in this relationship, and by harmonizing our waist line helps us digest thoughts and emotions to feed our body.

19 = 1+9 = 10, which gives us Abundance in Life To Be. 10 = 1+0 = 1, the oneness, unity with everything. 19 truly gives us our personal authority and leadership.

Looking at our 12 Organ Flow level, we can further see the dynamism of 19. Having our 2nd, 5th and 6th Depth Organ Functions thoroughly flow around 19, we are clearing out our Mental/Emotional world.

Recently, I had a client with the label of severe carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists. Being a skeptic, he doubted the effectiveness of a simple jumper cabling of Safety Energy Lock 19 and 11. Within 15 minutes, to his elation, the pain and immobility were gone.

Nineteen is dynamic!

Thank you, Jed.
