I’m thinking…

…about SEL 15.

The Joy Giver.
Renewing Intelligence.
15s are little finger, the color blue-violet, musical tone A and Capricorn.

Open 15s change “I don’t know why I do what I do” to “Why I do what I do”.

Open 15s help busy, busy bees and caregivers.

Got a headache? Open 15s!

Break a bone? Open 15s…cuts healing time in half, just hold the 15 on the same side of the injury.

15s are very important for heart function…circulation of blood…bone marrow, so it is wise to keep them open.

So open 15s wash our hearts with laughter, help heal broken bones but also help mental health issues, fatigue, stress, depression and coordination (being accident prone)!

The steps of the 15 Flow start with 15 (Joy) and move thusly: SEL 6 (Balance), SEL 8 (Infinity), SEL 2 (Inhale), SEL 9 (erases past), SEL 10 (Abundance), SEL 19 (Leadership), SEL 18 (Mediator) and back to SEL 15 (Joy)!

Hope your day is happy!

Matthias Roth onf SEL 15

Let’s see what Matthias Roth has to write about his experience of Safety Energy Lock 15 in issue Number 18, Autumn 1997…

15 is the party at the end of second depth.

From 5, man, to 14, man, important building has happened in second depth and now there is Joy. From spirit at the bustline through mind at the waistline we have landed in a laughing, happy body at the groin. No valley of tears, no vile nether region waiting to be transcended, the EARTH (15) of Jin Shin Jyutsu is a garden of Joy and Happiness. If it doesn’t feel that way to you, 15 is just the one for you!

As you laugh away sorrow through an open 15, all second depth sadness melts away. In the sun of your happiness new ideas are hatched and old attachments wither – with them, the sadness-seeds of major labels melt away. The “fifteened” body lightens up: “my aching back’ unloads its dreary bundle, straightens up and stays that way. And heavy legs, once they have laughed their head off, enjoy the lightness of their youthful days. Once your heart is washed in laughter, moving ahead in body, mind and spirit becomes the fun it used to be.

Sticks and stones may hurt my bones but 15’s there to help me. Broken bones and sprains will hurry back to normal in the champagne-bubble-lightness of an open fifteen. With children laughing several hundred times a day and adults only a few times, you can understand that “unless you become like children, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven”. It is through joy that we rise back into spirit.

So when you feel too stern for laughter or when your doing has weighed you down, just be the holding of your little finger and feel the smile you are rise to the surface.

…and have a Joy-filled day!

I’m thinking…

…about the many ancient healing arts.
…and how similar they are.
…and how they complement each other.

Haruki Kato, a student of Master Jiro Murai, writes in his Text I (one of two texts prepared for the October 2002 Jin Shin Jyutsu conference in Honolulu, Hawaii):

“I am convinced that the best way to treat a disorder is to observe (diagnose) it from three different points of view, i.e., the internal organ system (acupuncture-moxibustion and Chinese herborlogy), the movement system (body-balancing method) and the circulation system (Jin Shin Jyutsu), and to find the best suited treatment method for the disorder.”

Those methods were Kato’s choices. I myself practice Jin Shin Jyutsu daily for circulation (ALL circulation) and internal organ systems, Network Chiropractic weekly for body-balancing and massage therapy weekly in order to rid my body of toxins that accumulate.

If you are unfamiliar with Network Chiropractic, visit
And will take you to my massage therapist…

I am also a Reiki practitioner and notice that the chakras are on the Main Central Vertical Universal Harmonizing Energy line. Chakra are points in the human body, i.e. major plexuses of arteries, veins and nerves, that are centers of life force or vital energy in Hindu metaphysical tradition and other belief systems. A better translation of the word is ‘vortex or whirlpool’, and chakras are, of course, like Safety Energy Locks in many respects. Harmonized SELs (which have a 6-inch diameter) are whirling spheres that spin and spiral in a clockwise direction. That is rather simplified, but my ten years of study have made me aware I know nothing!

The 16-Petal Chrysanthemum (the Imperial Seal of Japan), Hindu/Buddhist Lotus and other flowers have meaningful representation of these chakras and SELs, as do colors and musical tones.

Of course, that word “vortex” brings me right to Sedona, Arizona or closer…though smaller…Ringing Rocks, Pennsylvania. will show you some amazing places.

Gee, I have much to learn!

Have fun….

Lynne Pflueger on SEL 15

Today we will see what Lynne Pflueger writes about her experience of Safety Energy Lock 15 in issue Number 18, Autumn 1997. SEL 15 is one of my particular favorites…the Joy-Giver…of course I have other favorites…ask me what I would prefer for a 20 minutes session and I’ll ask for the first step of the 13 Flow. I very fond of the other SELs, too!

Ah, well, I digress.

Here is what Lynne wrote:

Fifteen is fun. Fifteen is 6962555 = eleven.
Fifteen helps eleven unload all excess baggage.
Life is fun without carrying around all the excess from past and present. No more trying to’s, no more worries and frustrations, guilts, hurts, sadness and fears. Without attitudes it is fun to just BE in the Now, at peace with life and myself. Fun is 635 = fourteen. Fourteen relates to the worldly desire mind. The fun of fifteen transforms the mind.

On the pulse level fifteen speaks to us through Bladder and Diaphragm flows. In harmony, fourth depth is the flow, the bridge to the sixth depth. Without fear, there is no belief in lack, limitation, comparison, competition, or judgment. Fourth depth in harmony transforms the mind to a higher thought plane. It is only our own fearful thoughts that keep us from living in the Big Breath of life, the sixth depth. Diaphragm harmonizes the descending energy of generation, the source of life itself. Diaphragm Function Energy brings peace and calm to the Being. In the harmony of sixth depth we are able to BE “Serene Above Experience” – Mary Burmeister. It is fun to be in my own company when my thought life is harmonized through fifteen.

Mary found many ways to express and share her understanding of Jin Shin Jyutsu. In one class she talked about jumper cabling fifteen with eleven to mean “I am OK”. Fifteen is “O” and eleven is “K”. Shortly after this particular class, a woman came to me for a session in a state of great upset. The material elements of her life were crumbling, leaving her in a fearful, worried, chaotic frame of mind. She had aches and pains from head to toe. There were many projects to address. However, the overriding message in her conversation was that she was not OK, nor was she ever going to be OK again. Mary’s lecture came to mind. My friend received a fifteen flow and an eleven flow on both right and left sides of the body, with the result that her pulses harmonized The next chapter in her story brought even greater financial abundance than before. Fifteen is Renewing Intelligence.

Fifteen is Joy and Laughter. Dr. Paul Foster Case in his book The Tarot: A Key to the Wisdom of the Ages, says “…laughter is prophylactic. It purifies subconsciousness and dissolves mental complexes and conflicts.”

Confessions of jin shin junkies: How to be well-healed in life

We are going to begin looking at The Main Central Jin Shin Jyutsu Newsletter, issue Number 18, Autumn 1997. This issue is chock-full of helpful information and I strongly suggest you obtain a personal copy at and keep it at hand.

There is an article by Susan Viebrock: Confessions of jin shin junkies: How to be well-healed in life. There is another article by Pennie Sempell about in-hospital research using JSJ with intensive care patients and another article by Carolynn Conley about Equine Jin Shin Jyutsu.

There’s more! Now Know Myself by Ian Kraut and three of our teachers, Lynne Pflueger, Matthias Roth and Jed Schwartz, share their experience of Safety Energy Lock 15!

Before we start looking at SEL 15, I’d like to share just a couple of quick excerpts from this issue:

“God is my teacher. God is my Doer. God does it all for me.” – Mary Burmeister

“After returning from a series of sessions in Scottsdale last December, my nine year old son took hold of my hand as we crossed the street and said, ‘Mom, I think you’re cured.’ ‘What makes you say that?’ ‘Your hand feels like it used to feel before you got sick.’ He was four years old back then.” – Gail Boorstein

The ancient gods are said to have lived on nectar and not to have eaten or drunk like other men. It is quite true that honey gained or extracted from coping with the problems of everyday life is the food of the higher man. While we eat at the well-laden board it would be well for us to consider whether or not the spiritual man is also nourished and developed by the things which we have transmuted in our own lives.
An ancient philosopher once said that the bee extracts honey from the pollen of the flower, while from the same source the spider extracts poison. The problem which then confronts us is: are we bees or spiders? Do we transform the experiences of life into honey, or do we change them into poison? Do they lift us, or do we eternally rebel against the pricks? Many people become soured by experience, but the wise one takes the honey and builds it into the beehive of his own spiritual nature.

I’m thinking…

…about how I stumbled into an awareness of Jin Shin Jyutsu and how it changed my life.

Perhaps you are interested in learning the Ancient Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu in order to harmonize yourself and to help family and friends…even your pet companions!

To tantalize you I am going to share something that Matthias Roth wrote for The Main Central. Unless you have taken classes, you probably won’t understand, but may be tempted to learn more. You can find information about classes at

144 Questions on Text II
(Or the Thing with the “Ing” and the “Ed”)

In Text II, the energy of the One Source (the cosmic egg) breaks down into twelve aspects called organ flows. These twelve are really one and, like the petals of a daisy, need to be seen as expressions of the oneness that they form: you are all twelve of your organ flows.

What does an organ flow do? Builds the body, doesn’t it? So, Text II is about the body, Text I about the invisible, right? Well, not quite. There’s the thing with the “ing” and the “ed”.

Page 55 calls organ flows the “body building energy”. They are, but for the manifesting, manifested body. Energy doesn’t just pop from an unmanifested (Text I) body into a manifested, visible (Text II) body. There is the manifesting body in between, where “with the intermingling of flesh and consciousness, a profound mysterious transformation occurs”.

There is a body being built (or manifested) as an expression of a gradual and mysterious shift from thoughts into words into action. The “ed” is the outcome: a physical body with physical functions. Its laws are described in the lumbar circle on the answer sheet (handout from class), and in the book it takes up most of pages 44-61 (or actually, 44-59).

The “ing”, however, is the process that leads to the “ed”. It takes up most of Text II, and the biggest chunk of the answer sheet in the thoracic vertebrae! Here, the order of creation reveals a playful dance wherein consciousness condenses into matter and expresses form. The organ flows join in this dance as the twelve actors of the one piece.

As you look even closer, you see that each of the twelve organ functions has again twelve aspects contained within its oneness! Text II informs us that the organ flows develop four aspects, the physical form, but also the “invisible consciousness, voice and energy” (p. 3). It adds that the organ flows perform three actions, for they build, repair and protect (p. 9).

Does this mean that each organ flow builds form, reparis form and protects form; builds an aspect of consciousness, repairs that aspect of consciousness, and protects it? That it builds, repairs and protects one of the twelve aspects of my voice? And of my energy?

Then an exciting concert of 144 questions arises on Text II: What perfect body does the lung flow build? What damage to the body does it repair? What wear and tear, what accidents will it protect me from? How do I express when I voice the perfect lung that I am? What expression is restored to me, how is it protected by that flow? What consciousness? What kind of energy or vitality? And all these questions may be raised on all eleven other organ flows…

It is fun! The flow pattern, physical organ, zodiac sign and time of day all help you to play with these questions, study, think or daydream about them. It is fun to become aware of each flow manifesting simultaneously as personality, expression, vitality and bodily form. Then the body and all the other aspects become an open book to read. The wholeness becomes obvious, and therefore, simplicity. BE IT IS, IS.

Thank you, Matthias.

If all this seems overwhelming to you, I am certified to teach you Jin Shin Jyutsu Self-Help and that is much simpler to understand, though I must warn you that it may lead to a desire to learn more. It will still permit you to help yourself and your family, friends and pets, but you will need to accept some truths and practice your self-help daily. Mary challenges you to learn and practice and says you will begin to see the difference in 7 days. That is quite a promise!

You can check out the various classes that I offer on the front page of this blog-site.

Your personal harmony of body, mind and spirit rests in your own hands!
