Only two teachers shared their experience of Safety Energy Lock 18 in issue Number 21, Summer 1998, however, there is a rather lengthy article, the Gift written by Rita Grove, Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner in Kamuela, Hawaii that I think worth sharing before we move on to Safety Energy Lock 19. Because it is long, and every word very helpful to us today, I will share it in two parts. It begins:

“Recently I had a moving experience with Jin Shin Jyutsu…’moving’ because I went from a complacent, taken-for-granted relationship with Jin Shin Jyutsu to a renewed, reverent place of gratitude.

In January this year, my mother, age 78, began having symptoms of blood blisters in her mouth and bruising on her body. Because she was recovering from the flu and normally well and energetic, initially there was little concern. However, within a week the picture changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with acute leukemia. I left my home in Hawaii and flew to Colorado to be with her and my father. The day I arrived, her physician cautioned us that she might not live more than a few days, because she was at such high risk for stroke.

She chose the option of chemotherapy and the treatment regime that traditional medicine offers. Immediately she was hospitalized in an oncology unit, and began receiving transfusions, three types of chemotheraphy and the gift of Jin Shin Jyutsu.

The hospital staff was kind and flexible and I was able to stay in her room for the first three days and nights, offering Jin Shin Jyutsu continually. On the fourth day I moved to the Hospitality Complex, rooms adjacent to the hospital, provided at a low cost to relatives of patients.

We met each challenge with the support of Jin Shin Jyutsu. It helped us not only with the side effects of the chemotherapies, and the physical symptoms of the ‘dis-ease’, but equally important, Jin Shin Jyustu removed our fear.

The Jin Shin Jyutsu flows became constant, unwavering companions, each one offering a special gift in a time of need. To name a few: the first afternoon my mother received a platelet transfusion and two types of chemotherapy within 20 minutes. Her body began trembling uncontrollably. the Third Method of Correction helped ‘restore the order of creation’ within minutes.”
